Straightening really curly 'Annie' Hair?

I have very curly hair (think Little Orphan Annie only Italian and with shoulder length dark brown hair). My hair is about a full 4 inches shorter when it's curly than when it's long. My stylist suggested that if I wanted the same results get a really expensive flat iron (I think she said a CHI). Does anyone have tips for flat irons and the likes? Any good testimonials for anything that works well?

Straightening really curly 'Annie' Hair?

I don't have really curly hair, but I know my friends who do use "wet to dry" straighteners. Try going for hair care systems that are purposely to make your hair straight and shiny. Try Herbal Essences. They have a line I am pretty sure to help make your hair straight.

the chi is really good

as is the T3 TOURMALINE.

i swear by thee t3 tourmaline. its my baby%26lt;33 lol but yea . amazing straightener its availible at sephora.

just dont get the wet to straight one

Straightening really curly 'Annie' Hair?

yea you need a CHI

I have used an inexpensive flat iron, then bought my CHI. It was 110 dollars, but worth every penny. It glides over the hair because it gets much hotter than other irons. This keeps it from breaking and damaging. It leaves a sleak, shiny, finish. Use a good straghtening spray, too. CHI has a good line of theses that also smell pretty good. Good luck.

I know a girl, one of my bestfriends, she has the same problem. She bought a Chi, and well altough they are quite expensive (150-200) they are well worth it. Not only does it straighten her hair, but when she uses this product called: "Flat Iron" by Special Effects, it keeps her hair straight for the whole day and most of the night (until she washes her hair)

i use the ''got2be sleek'' before using my flat iron and it makes my hair less frizzy and straighter. =]

Straightening really curly 'Annie' Hair?

i would buy the CHI it works really well but dont burn your hair to much cause i used to straighten it everyday and i have the same hair. so i would try something else. this is wat i do, i put my hair half up half down (sometimes completely down) when its wet and put it paul mitchell frizz ease first.

then i scrunch it a tiny bit with redken ringlet

everyone loves my hair and it looks pretty so i would do that instead cause its so much work to straighten it. but if you do straighten it to keep it from getting dry i use (when i do straighten it) biolage smoothing milk http://www.matrixbeautiful.com/products/...

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening

Im going to a special event today and i wanted curls its about 7 hours away....so anyway i used rollers and the curls are beautiful my hair is soo puffy right now how can i get ridof the puffiness without using a straightening iron?i got 7 hours to do so , but if you guys know any home-made ways lol can u tell me ??or tell me sprays if you could that'd make the puffiness stop

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

Yeah! I had that problem too. What I do with my hair is that I spritz water on it and then gently comb it but not all the way down to the tips but from the roots and halfway down. The water will relax your hair and it'll stay like that when it dries. But careful!!! Don't use too much water. That'll just ruin your curls.

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

use straightening tonic or any smoothing spray or cream to try and smooth out the frizz or puffiness...

or just restart considering you have 7 hrs!

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

u just have to comb it out straight and remove the curls. u should have used curl activator like TREsemme during curling process coz this makes the curls firm and not too puffy.

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

use mousse

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

It may be the way your rolling your hair up. If the hair is coming up over the roller at the base, it'll be puffy. If it comes from underneath, you can eliminate the puffiness.

If you don't want to redo the whole thing, you could try dampening just the roots.

After you use rollers your hair gets puffy how do you get rid of the puffiness without straightening it?

it'll go down on its own, it prolly looks fine.... leave it alone and the hair is gonna go down on its own

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

I just got magic straight yesterday... how long do I wait before I can permanently color my hair.. is it safer to get it colored in the salons?

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

i would have asked the salon were you got it done because it depends on the condition of how your hair was before and how it is now but yes go ask any salon and they should tell you how long and it isnt much diff to get it done in a salon its just a better result is all

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

If you permanently color your hair, never ever go back get another japanese straightening again. It will destroy your hair that you will have to wait till your hair grows out.

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

3 months ;)

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

You have to wait at least 3 days for color after permanent straightening but best to ask your stylist for their opinion. I've worked w/ Bio Ionic but not Magic Straight.....It's safe to color after and I would ONLY use a salon. These procedures are usually very expensive so protect your investment and talk to the stylist who did the straightening or at least another stylist/salon that is familiar w/it.

How long do I have to wait to color my hair after getting japanese straightening?

it usually takes 6months for hair to recover from treatments.if u plan to have ur hair colored in the future- have ur hair treated with hot oil at least every 2 weeks to recover the lost moisture of ur hair faster.

Biosilk.

Girls, What is your favourite product to put in your hair while your're straightening it?

The very best product to use is Fantasia IC straightening polisher serum comes in pinkish bottle. This strengthens the hair to prevent breakage, coats and straightens the the hair making it feel very silky soft. Highly recommends, and it lasts a long time, a little goes a long way. PLEASE do not waste your money on biosilk because it has far too much alcohol content which is very drying and will eventually breaks hair and makes it frizzy looking. You can even call Fantasia Inter Cellular in New Jersey for a sample of their straightening serum, they'll send it for free with many of their other products samples.

Girls, What is your favourite product to put in your hair while your're straightening it?

biosilk I use it and it works great

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

Thermasilk

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

any super moisturizing shampoo/conditioner

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

Aussie three minute miracle works well enough, but I did notice that it weighted my hair a bit. If your hair is seriously damaged or somewhat damaged, buy a cheap box of hair dye and use the conditioner that comes with the dye. The conditioner there is super-strength, and worth the 4 dollars for the cheap dye you can use or through out.

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

GET A SMOOTHING TREATMENT AND ALSO TRY CHOLESTRAL IT WORKS GREAT!!!

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

You can buy Matrix in the orange bottle (can't remember the name off hand) and a VERY large round brush and learn to blow it out straight so that you don't need the iron anymore. Matrix has a whole line of products from shampoo to hairspray, the bottle is orange.

What are some good products to use for your hair if you are straightening it with an iron all the time?

Straight hair turned wavy?

I used to have the typical super-straight Asian hair when I was young, and I loved it. But at around 9 or 10 years old, it started to get wavy, and now I have to go get Japanese Thermal permanent hair straightening at a salon just to get back that straight hair.

I love the effects of Japanese Thermal Reconditiong/permanent hair straightening, but the downside to this is that the new hair growth that comes in at about 4-6 months will make it look weird, with the upper part of your head look wavy while the bottom part is pin-straight.

Plus, it costs too much for me to get a retouch for the rest of my life.

Grr. Why does straight hair turn wavy when I got older (I'm almost 16 btw)? Is this part of genetics?

most of my other Asian friends have had straight hair ever since they were born.

Straight hair turned wavy?

Sometimes hair can change from dead straight to super curly or opposite, on average every seven years (or anywhere between 3 - 12 years) hair will change a bit some peoples very dramatic some others not so dramatic, same can happen with colour some go darker, some lighter.

This is just life patterns of the hair cycle

Straight hair turned wavy?

be happy with your original hair

embrace your curls!!!!!!!!!!

Straight hair turned wavy?

when i was younger i had straight hair to. yeah wavey hair is soo.. hard to handle. my hair usually gets frizzy unless i use a frizz controll conditioner. the best way to do your hair when its wavey is to get a goo texture cream. it brings out better waves and it stays in all day... i dont even have to use hair spray! good luck with your hair, and hope you find a good product that fits you!

Straight hair turned wavy?

I say you embrace your curls, I'm sure your Asian friends with straight fair are jealous that you have curly hair. Everybody wants what they can't have-why not save the straight hair for special occasions?

Straight hair turned wavy?

That happened to me too!

But I noticed that it only happened when I layered my hair, have you layered your hair?

Straight hair turned wavy?

Interesting... I was opposite, my hair was wavy w/ some curls until I was like 7 then it turned straight and is straight now. Personally I think you should just leave your hair the way it is, if you wanna straighten it sometimes just use a regular hair straightener.

Straight hair turned wavy?

it may go away. my 15 yr old daughter got wavy hair when she turned 12 or 13, then it went frizzy now it is straight again.

see what happens in a few yrs.

14 yr stylist

Straight hair turned wavy?

I'm a 16-year old asian girl and I used to have straight hair, but then it started to get wavy and thick. My dad has wavy hair so I know where I got mines from and I guess when we are first born and still young, our hairs aren't fully grown yet so they are straight and thin. Then they gradually grow more stronger and thicker/fuller. Does any of your parents have wavy hair? Then it's genetics. And after your hair grows out wavy again after straightening, you can always wear a lot of hats to cover that part up! That's what I do. And not just boring caps but there are many cute hats out there and so you don't have to worry about them not looking good. :]

Straight hair turned wavy?

It's hormonal, darling. Just blow-dry it out straight and use good products. Invest in a good ceramic flat iron. Don't perm! You're right...it's expensive and too high maintenace for a girl your age. You need to embrace your new look. The texture you described is perfect for straight or curly styles....you're just going to have to spend a little more time and effort than you're use to.

Straight hair turned wavy?

OMG!!! I have the same problem!! I had also really strait hair too. Everyone asked me if I had straiten it, and I was like no, why?? That was the way it was as strait. Bu yea, when I was like 10 years old, it started to curl a little. But I think it still looks cute, but I sometimes wish I had my strait hair back. But maybe it will go strait again. You have to be positive the hair type you have, not negative. Think like,oh, my hair is so cool, a little wavy. Because wavy is also cute too. I have had friends that had strait hair, and have permanent waves. You can also straiten your hair permanent. Good luck.

Hair rebonding?

i have very dry, frizzy and curly hair.i want to have straight and gorgeous hair.i heard that hair straightening or smoothening have too many chemicals which will damage the hair a lot.how about hair rebonding?is it safe?what is the difference between hair straightening and rebonding?have any of u tried it and had good results?pls let me know

Hair rebonding?

i have thick n somewhat frizzy hair..the natural effect is wat some pple call "flyaway" hair...i've tried both straightening and rebonding....

straightening basically straightens your hair, n it lasts abt 2 mths maybe...depending on our hair type...n it leaves ur hair feeling really dry

rebonding..it is supposed to kill most of your hair chemicals, but it does leave ur hair feeling smoother than straightening...n it also does look much better....but be sure to go to a trusted stylist, cos i've heard bad stories abt salons who dun do a gd job...

i rebond my hair every 6 months or so....it helps a lot cos i dun have to do much blow drying n such..it's basically flat...which is wat i'd always wanted...but if u go to a gd stylist, u can stil have some volume blown in if that's wat u really wan...

i suggest u speak to your stylist n hear wat they tell you...n then go with wat u think u wan, from wat they tel you....it took me almost a year before i finally decided i'd have my hair rebonded, n by who...n now, i am greatly thankful for whoever invented it. :))
