Which flat iron is best for straightening very curly hair?

The T3...You can use it on wet hair to dry it straight or just use it to straighten your hair. Leaves hair really shiny and cuts out drying time. I would use a good thermal protector on your hair though (Aquage makes a good one and so does Aveda). I believe it can get hotter than a chi but I'm not sure!

How long do I have to wait to straighten my hair again?

I straightened by hair using hair straigthening cream. Actualyl I went to the parlor to staighten it. My hair was staright before but I wanted it to be poker straight. Now the end result after the straightening session is that my hair is nto as staright as it should be. I am planning to straighten it with the straightening cream again but I want to know how long should I wait fore I straighten it again.

I am not talking about straightening hair with the straightening iron. I am talking abotu chemically straightening my hair.

Also please tell me whether there is any way I can have my hair to be poker straight without going for another chemical hair straightening.

Thanks.

How long do I have to wait to straighten my hair again?

Hair rebonding/Japanese straightening.

If you are doing a relaxer you should wait at least three months or you will have a lot of breakage.

How long do I have to wait to straighten my hair again?

I have naturally curly hair and had it chemically straightened once. One side got pretty straight and they decided to redo the other side.It damaged my hair really bad.It actually grew out of my scalp damaged. It took over a year for my hair to get back to normal.I really don't think you should get it done again any time soon. You will just be asking for trouble.

How should I do my hair for the second day of school besides straightening it. My hair is short so no curling.

I f you want you could have it half up half down that always looks really cute

You could also scrunch your hair then put in two thin headbands in that match your outfit. Put the first one in about an inch from the hairline and the second one about three inches from the hairline.

Hope i could help and good luck at school!

What is the best way to press african-american hair. What are the best straightening products for bl

I have had relaxers in the past and somehow or another my hair ends up overprocessed. I've complained several times, with no results. Now I want to start pressing my hair instead of getting locks.

What is the best way to press african-american hair. What are the best straightening products for black hair.

Hot combing it works really well. You'll have to touch it up maybe once or twice a week, but I think Hot Combs are the best way.

You can also get a ceramic hair straightnening iron. Not as smooth as a hot comb, but you just plug it in and use it like a curling iron. Conair makes a good one.

But why are locks your only alternative. You can be natural and not have locks. I like to wash my hair and leave conditioner in you hair. It makes you hair really soft, and you can have a tame natural look.

get it chemically relaxed at a salon and then get a small 1/2 inch ceramic straitener for straitening every day

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

ok, so here's the story. my hair always gets extremely thick on one side of my face(with the consistency of copperwire and curves in)...and is extremely thin and flares out in the other(really fine consistency, curves out). sometimes it alternates. and sometimes ALL my hair is thick and puffy, or all of it has too much flare altogether. i hate it!! im so embarassed by it! i've tried everything. hair straighteners (flat irons) and straightening conditioner aren't working. and im pretty sure im straightening it right as i followed all the directions. butmy hair absolutely refuses to straighten. and if they work, its just temporary and the next hour my hair is back to its old tricks. can anyone help? should i get my hair straightened at a real barbershop ?

p.s. my scalp has been itchy nowadays if that helps anything. i also do wash my hair every day with shampoo and straightening conditioner and always use my straightener, but it never really works. advice is very much appreciated! thankyo

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

try geting a japanese hair straightening treatment that u can get done by salons.

its basically the oposit of a perm and lasts forverrr!!

%26lt;3 xox

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

wow!!!! that's just what i needed!!! Report It

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

USE A STRAITENER one is bound to work!!! just search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

You can have your hair straightened at a salon, but it is rather hard on your hair. Perhaps straight is just not the look for your hair. If your hair is coarse and wirey you should try some curly hair styles. Sometimes you just can't fight how nature intended you to look! Try getting out of the shower and throwing your head upside down and crinkling in some moose or curl seruim. Let it air dry and don't comb it. See how that works for you.

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

Yes get your hair straightened at a barbershop also buy a professional straightener it might be alot of money but its worth in in the end trust me hope i helped

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

Try cutting it and getting it chemically straghtened.

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

OK my hair is just like yours.

First to solve your itchy scalp problem, use t-gel before your shampoo and conditioner. But a good thing is to use both a straighting shampoo and conditioner. Just so you can go ahead and start styling your hair before you actually start. Then let your hair air dry for 10 min. then blow dry it to the way you want it. After you have done all that section your hair off start from the bottom layer to the top, to guarantee your hair being as straight as possible. Email me if you want anymore tips

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

you just need a good hair straightener (they can be expensive) and paitence

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

Well, try going to the SALON (not barbershop!) and ask for Thermal Reconditioning. It's basically a reverse perm, and your hair is smooth, shiny, manageable, and of course, straight! A friend of a friend had this done to her ringlets, and now her hair is stick straight. Yes, this treatment is permanent, and is quite costly. But, if you are able to live with some damage, then you can buy an at home perm kit, and just comb it straight. I doubt the results will be as good, though. Good luck!

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

um....all i ever use is a straightener, straightening shampoo%26amp;conditioner,%26amp; Straightening cream(my hair is like wavy and frizzy and it works for me) the shampoo that i really like is SUNSILK(the purple kind)shampoo and conditioner %26amp; SUNSILK 24/7 creme, but right now I am using frutis straightening shampoo%26amp;conditioner and a straightening creme...

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

Get your hair relaxed - this is a cream which is combed through your hair which permanently straightens it (also known as re-bonding).

It is commonly used for afro hair types, but milder solutions are available (baby relaxers). It is cheap and makes hair much more manageable.

Also stop washing it every day, it is stripping the hair and scalp of natural oils. Try washing with just conditioner some days.

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

time and patience , hot iron out with small fine sections , use kms straightening balm , get a chemical straightening done by a professional stylist , should take at least 4 - 6 hours depending on your hair length , if your scalp is always itchy then it's not liking your current shampoo and conditioner.

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

I really think you just need a new cut. Hair can be texturized to be thinner in some areas, maybe they can give you something to help even out your style. No one has the same amount of hair on everyinch of their head. It just may be that yours grows thicker on one side, which is very common. But it can be cut into a more even style, have you thought about that? To much straightening can make your hair very frizzy and dry it out, damage it. The more you do it, the worse it will get. Give it a break, wear it up

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

First you must have products , a good flat iron, and a good cut. Second if your hair is that dry and unruly do NOT wash it every day. let your scalp oils moisturize your hair for you. If you have a ceramic Iron it will kill bacteria that builds up on your hair shaft and also eliminate odor. for products i would say to use SLEEK LOOK by MATRIX get the shampoo the deep moisture mask the styling creme EXTREME and STRAIGHT POLISH you only need a quarter size amount of any of the products at the most and with the creme and polish start in the ends and work your way up to your scalp. Creme on wet hair polish on your finished product.

For your flat iron i recommend BaByliss Pro TT Flat Iron It heats up in three seconds and it is what i use as a professional stylist.

For your Cut 586-293-3400 book your appointment soon

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

there hasta be a straightner for you, i had the same problem at first with them, but you hafta find one that you can adjust the heat on. i need to crank mine up to the hottest setting to straighten mine. but straightening ur hair all the time is annoying and bad for ur hair. u should try finding a way to work with ur hair the way it is, if u can't i wouldn't try chemical straightening cuz it might not last long on hair like urs. but permanently straightening would work, i think its about $200, and when ur hair grows back u hafta get touch-ups. but it looks amazing

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

I think the straightening shampoo and conditioner, in your case, is pointless. If you can get away with it, don't wash your hair every day, it helps with fuzzies sometimes. If your scalp is itchy, try Head and Shoulders or something, it could be dandruff problems or overwashing.

Now, about the straightening...

My twin sister and I have fluffy, irritating hair that wouldn't straighten no matter what. My hairdresser couldn't even blow-dry it straight, my little sister's flat iron was doing nothing. Then one Christmas, my little sister received an expensive flat iron. It was originally $100 (my mom got it on sale, don't worry, you can, too!) and strangely enough, it worked on my hair. The trick was high quality and very high heat. The guy at the store said it was hot enough to roast a chicken.

If you're going to stick with the flat iron idea, remember that so much high heat is going to absolutely fry your hair. To help protect it, make sure you use conditioner, use a spray-on flat iron hair protecter, VO5 has a good one. You might want to invest in a hot-oil treatment once a week.

I can't guarantee this will work, but you can try, I would. Good luck!

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

oh please DO NOT use those home relaxer kits!!! if you make 1 little mistake...it can cost you your hair like it did to me!! i used those do it yourselves and my hair melted!! not literaly but they did have to chop it off 10 inches!!! now im stuck with hair extensions.

. well i have the SAME problem as you, whenever i straighten it, in an hour, it goes all weird again, and one side is always poofier than the other. i spent $150 on a straightner and it helped somewhat. so on top of that i started using ''so sexy smoothing shine serum for hair'' and ''so sexy high gloss style creme'' both by victoria's secret. they seem to be working just fine!, my hair smells good and the bottles are very pretty. lol

oh and i forgot. use a heat tamer protective spray before straighting your hair just to cut down on the damage. i use tresemme.

well good luck!!!! hope i helped :)

How do I straighten my rebellious hair? my becomes too thick or has too much flare?

Okay

So it is a wonderful think that you have thick hair, it is just dry , and your scalp is dry, try Nioxin and Redkin they are great scalp products, also try using a pre conditoner before styling, I use avacado and mayonaise. Also a great leave in conditioner is always good, try MS Jessie's Curly Pudding, a great place to go to get great tips on producs is

I think my hair is falling out. I dyed it black and straightened it, hair falling out has colorless

I think my hair is falling out. A few months ago or so I colored my hair black. And I was straightening it. And now my hair has been falling out, for about 2 months. Im losing alot more hair then ever. Especially when water touches it.

My hair is falling out with the bulb, and im comming to see the hairs falling out have colorless bottom hair where its grown.

Any ideas?

Thanks ahead of time!

I think my hair is falling out. I dyed it black and straightened it, hair falling out has colorless tips+bulb?

Hi. Did you have any hair fallout before you dyed it black and straighten it? If not, there's your problem. If you did it both at the same time, that was a big mistake. You should never do that.

Water wont make your hair fall out. Youre just seeing more of the hair fallout because water rinses and washes anything out.

When your hair falls out from the root, you will see a small white bulb. This is okay, since 80-100 hairs fall out daily. More hair than that is a cause for concern.

- first, if you find that it was the dye and straightening, dont do it anymore. Find a safer dye, you know, something natural like henna. Dont straighten it until everything gets back to normal.

- second, deep condition your hair once a week with heat. This will strengthen your hair from the roots to the ends. Do this until it gets stronger, then let it be every two weeks.

- third, take a multivitamin and a seperate hair vitamin that has biotin (helps with hair) and inositol (lessens hair fallout).

It could be different factors, such as stress, vitamin deficiency, anything. But first check to see if the dye and the straightening did it like I talked about in the beginning. Hope this helps. God bless.

I think my hair is falling out. I dyed it black and straightened it, hair falling out has colorless tips+bulb?

ok for one water will not make your hair fall out! No matter what you did to your hair this is the time of year that we shed our hair also stress is a big factor to hair loss or you are ill and your body is telling you so.is it common in the family if not no permanent worries...you may have fried your hair and ned a hair trim at least put your hair in a pony tail and cut the tips....if your hair is dull in between hair color use a colored mousse to keep it fresh in fact if you are going darker than your natural hair you can use these products instead of dying it. bulbs have no idea what you are talking about

I think my hair is falling out. I dyed it black and straightened it, hair falling out has colorless tips+bulb?

There is a possibilities that you hair is falling out for the reason that your are damaging by coloring and straightening it at the same time. Combined this two together are harsh for your hair. You could also be stress which is one factor of losing your hair. Try to massage your scalp to stimulate your blood circulation, this will help to prevent your hair from falling out. Good luck !!!!!!!!!

I had my hair straighten last Tues. waited 3 days and washed and now my hair is sticky?

I have had my hair straighten in the past with the Chi system, but never had this stickyness residue left on my hair. It is hard to brush through my hair when drying. My hair doesn't look dry or brittle and when it is dried it is not sticky anymore and looks fine, but I am confused why it is so sticky and hurts when I brush my hair when wet. Anyone with expericence with hair straightening every had this happen to them? Could it be that the stylist left stuff in it? I am nervous that my hair is now destoryed. I only get a straightening once a year and dye my hair only several times per year, so I do not understand why my hair became so shot....Any advise would be appreciated it.

I had my hair straighten last Tues. waited 3 days and washed and now my hair is sticky?

This happend to me after it was colored at home. You hair is "fried", get yourself a good conditoner, pay for the good thick stuff. Panteen makes a really good hair mask, wash as normal, when wet put in put a bag over your hair and a towel over that. wait 30 min, then rince it out. do this a few times a week and your hair will impove dramiaticly over the next while.

I had my hair straighten last Tues. waited 3 days and washed and now my hair is sticky?

My hair gets FRIED after I dye it.

Maybe it's the dye?

Probably not, but oh well.

I had my hair straighten last Tues. waited 3 days and washed and now my hair is sticky?

My daughter has had her hair straightened twice and also dyes and highlights her hair and she has had no problems with it being sticky while wet. Are you using a good hair conditioner? I would suggest Nexxus Humectress or Neutrogena Intensive Hair conditioner in a tube.

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

i straighten my hair daily before school , only thefront of my fringe and side layers though around my face. my mum tells me if i continue to do so my hair will startfalling out because it is so bad for my hair daily! my hair is naturally curly and i cant go withought straightening it ! is there someway i can reduce the damage and continue to use it daily

??? please help!

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

any type of straightening can damage ur hair to an extent, but if you invest in a good pair of ceramic straighteners - that can help prevent damage.

ceramic straighteners heat up to high temps, meaning u only need to go over ur hair once or twice to get it straight meaninf less damage.

1) it wont make hair "fall out" it can cause hair to break off where its damaged.

2) do deep conditioning treatments - TIGI dumb blonde, Aussie 3 min miracle

3) use leave in conditioner after washing ur hair - helps detangle and add moisture - Aussie Hair insurance

4) use a serum or defrizz cream b4 blow drying - when u do blowdry ur hair - rough dry it, then section it off and use a paddle brush or round brush to help straighten hair. - TIGI ego boost, TIGI girls toys, TIGI afterparty or sallys own brand of defrizz cream.

5) when straighten hair use a thermal protection spray

6) make sure you get your hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks.

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

I have terribly wavy hair, so I can relate.

Get a ceramic straightener. Not just one that says it ceramic, a good quality one, prob spend about 100$ Chi makes a great one. This will not damage your hair, I have used one everyday for about 4 years, and my hair is long, and perfectly fine. But if you are using a cheap one it will cause the ends to break off, as soon as you use a good one you will feel the difference.

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

there is a dove shampoo and condioner that is made to help with this problem... i never tried it but iheard it's good..

I had the same problem so i stopped straightening every day, so whay don't you try other way to make your hair look good in a short time without damaging it?

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

You could chemically straighten it. DO NOT do it yourself, I speak from experience, it doesn't come out well. It also depends on how curley your hair is. The more curly the less straight it will be. I think your best bet would be to do that japanese straightener.

Is there a way i can straighten my hair daily withought damaging it?

It is damaging, but not deadly:) You have to use hair protection when you straighten your hair, though. The best one I used is Tigi stuff, http://www.uamodels.net/archives/tigi-ca... it was great for me, and most people swear by this product. It also adds shine and softness to yuor hair. Fells great and look awesome!

Hair Straighten??

I love straight hair.

I have gotten the hair straightening 4 times in the last 5 years.

And I love it so much

But I get the feeling my hair is not going to take it one more time.

What are the alternatives, to the chemical treatment, to get straight hair??

I've tried EASYSTRAIGHT. that claims to straighten your hair without the chemicals, but it not only didnt do the job, but my hair kind of broke. http://www.easystraight.com/

What can I do? I really love having it straight, and I can't afford (money and time wise) to blowdry it every day.

It is not really curly, its weavy.

Hair Straighten??

Unfortunately, you need either the chemicals or the heat to straighten your hair. And, you are right, that will fry it if you aren't careful.

Try brushing your hair dry after your shower. That may pull some of the wave out of it. And, if you let your hair grow out, the weight will pull it straight.

Keep in mind though, that if your hair is healthy it will be beautiful

Hair Straighten??

Its best to get a straightener and do it that way for 6 months! Then straighten with creams again! Your hair needs time to chill and repair itself! x

Hair Straighten??

Invest in a good flat iron, like CHI and use it on the lowest possible setting that your hair will straighten under. Also, make sure you use a spray or products that combat the heat from styling products

And of course, moisturize!

Hair Straighten??

ok well this is what u can do, wash ur hair with straightening shampoo %26amp; conditioner, then have someone set ur hair in big rollers, sit under a dryer for about 30-40 minutes until ur hair is totally dry.

remove the rollers and blowdry ur hair to make it straight. this technique will give u pin straight hair. to maintain it straight wrap ur hair up around ur head ( this is called a dooby) then wear a polyester scarf to sleep so that ur hair won't get all frizzy and matted. then just remove the scarf in the morning and comb out ur hair with a wide tooth comb.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

I've been wanting to style my hair (stereotypically) what's called the emo style nowawdays.

I've liked the style since 7th grade when Emo didn't exist as a stereotype and now I'm a freshman. I just don't want to get stuck with a "poserish" look. (Even though we all are to some extent and I "don't care what others think") It also takes awhile to grow your hair so I need to decide before going for it. I'm going for the straightened look(for guys) short in the back,How do I keep my hair straightened,so it stays all day during school (perfectly)

because my hair is naturally wavy so it is messy by the end of the day.

THANKS

Should I style my hair "emo"?

That's something that only you can decide. If you like the style, then you've already answered your own question. Style, whether emo/goth or not, is a personal thing that you should not have to look for acceptance or approval from anyone before you do it. If you're a minor and still living with your parents then they can decide what is acceptable and not in their home, or if you work somewhere where your appearance is crucial, you can be let go if it goes against their guidelines and/or is considered "too distracting or offensive". But otherwise that's solely your choice.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

nooo

Should I style my hair "emo"?

I'm one of the handfuls of freshman in my school who don't have long hair that waves to the side.. ;D

Should I style my hair "emo"?

ew, just dont do it.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Good idea

Should I style my hair "emo"?

never look emo. people don't like people who appear to be emo.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Do what is most functional and easiest to do. I am sure you have more important things going on in your life than worrying about what other people think. Just remember that people that go out of their way to avoid conforming to the "Norm" are more likely to be controlled by the "Norm" than those who conform.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

always say no to emo.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

I love how crap like this "matters" in high school.

Don't do the choppy, emo hair. It's been kind of uncool for a while now. Middle America suburban kids are desperately trying to hang onto it, though.

Just don't do it...

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Well I think you should do whatever you want. But will it make you feel good, to have a haircut that's just like everyone elses?

Whatever you decide, don't worry about it too much. It's only hair - it'll grow back!

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Oh, don't do that. It looks kinda stupid on guys, and it's becoming such a cliche.

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Don't be crazy! It's just a passing phase and when it passes you will say "Damn! What in hell was I thinking! I'm so glad I didn't do it!" and of course if you do it you will be saying something different like "__________________" (fill the blank)

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Why would you want something you know nothing about? Emo has been around since the 60's. I don't like it , but to each their own .

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Once a haircut has a name or a title, then no one should have it. Think: the "farrah fawcett", the "rachel", the mullet!

Should I style my hair "emo"?

Keep it straight with a thick hair brush, hair dryer, straightner, and about half a can of hairspray daily. The style looks good on most people so I wouldn't be too worried about what other people think if you get your hair "emofied"

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

Hi , i recently got a straightening Iron , everything is going fine ...but i dunno how to straighten the hair on the back ...how do you do it ??? i mean ...you cant see ..

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

first i put my hair up and take down sections of my hair at a time to straighten it. then i split the hair i have down into two groups and that works or stand sideways in a mirror, or have someone else do it.

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

I have that problem sometimes too, but my hair isn't that curly. It's just wavy. I part my hair as if I was putting it into pigtails, and then just straightne it from there. But if you're hair is really curly, you can always ask someone to help you.

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

I think everyone has this problem. The solution is simple first i would start by seperating your hair into layers you can do this easy with a regular ruber band or scrunchy. Just seperate your hair and pull the hair on the back of you head that your trying to get straight up you can see alot better! I hope i could help! Good luck im sure you will look gorgous!

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

my hair is wavy so i dont have too much problem i half my hair so i get half of the hair from the back and then to the side so i have my hair on two sides and not at the back then just straighten it..

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

i straighten my hair every morning, and getting the back hairs can be kind of hard. i section it off to start out with. i pull my hair up and do the bottom layers and then work my way up. just lift your hair up, and look in the mirror. try to get as close as you can to your roots and then straighten. you can also lead to one side, so the hair is easier to reach. hope this helps

How do you straighten the hair on the back on of your head?

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some

that i can use to make it back to the way it was. I think my hair is this way because i have been swimming a lot in a pool with a lot of chlorine. I think it has fried my hair. also, because i have been swimming everyday i have been washing my hair almost every day and mabye that hurt it also. PLEASE HELP! I spent 200 dollars to get my hair straightened to look shiny and all over great and now my hair is all fried because (i think) of my recent swimming. is there any way to make it better or a kind of shampoo to use?!

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

First, go get a trim, then try this.....apply warmed Olive oil to your hair when its dry, cover with a plastic cap, and wrap with a hot towel (one out of the dryer works great). Leave on for an hour or so....some people leave it on overnight...

To wash out first rinse with really warm/hot water, then use a small amount of shampoo, and concentrate on the scalp, avoid the ends, then condition. when you are done rinse with really cold water to seal the cuticle.

When you go swimming.... put olive oil in a spray bottle, spray your hair, and put it in a tight braid.... it will just look wet, unless you use so much oil that its dripping..... the oil will condition the hair, and repel the water...keeping you from more damage =)

do the hot oil treatment once or twice a week til your hair feels good again....

OH and a really good shampoo and conditioner to use.... pantene makes a line called restoratives... it says repair 2 years of damage in 1 month... I use it, my hair feels great now

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

I use this spray, from redken.can't remember whats it call..is to smoothen and soften hair..

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

It sounds gross, but I use mayonnaise mixed with beer. It works very well. You leave it in for an hour, and then wash it off with some good smelling shampoo - like Dove ultra healing.

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

NO i'am a man and i know the answer. go get a dead end trim

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

use some plain yogurt on ur hair.keep it for half an hour and it will make ur hair soft.try to use conditioner.Wash ur hair first with a good quality shampoo.wash with warm water.this will open the pores and clean ur scalp.then put on conditioner and after 3 mins wash it with cold water.this will lock in the conditioner.try to put some pure coconut oil or almond oil or olive oil b4 getting into pool.this will stay as a coating and will not let anything affect ur hair.

good luck

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

Therappe shampoo by Nexxus might help, but don't forget conditioner! KeraPHix, once or twice a week, as a treatment for your hair, Ensure, as a good detangler and repairer of split ends. One more thing...you might need to get the split ends trimmed. Ask you hair stylist to recommend a good leave-in spray conditioner too.

My hair is extremely bent up, fried, and dried up at the ends and basically all over. Is there some shampoo...

Use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week...that'll take care of thre chlorine. also wet your hair down before swimming...that will prevent it from absorbing as much chlorine. Try Biolage fortifying shampoo and conditioner...it might help a little. Straitening your hair is where the main problem lies. It sounds like they may have over precessed it! If that is the case...the only thing to do is cut it off. good luck.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Im trying to convince my dad to buy me a straightener because i am really in need of one, he said he will buy me one if i can prove to him that it wont damage my hair, i have thick, strong hair. i have never dyed it, or ever used anything on it before, so i think that my hair is pretty healthy. i cant do any straighteniing treatments if they are expensive.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

if u get the ceramic straighteners, not the metal ones, and spray heat protection on ur hair before straightening, then it wont damage, dont do it everyday though! it does dry up. since it the heat is obviously hot.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Well, look online for proof.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

a japenese perm might work and it last for 2-3 months good luck =]]

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

well, it does damage your hair

sometimes if you buy a straighning spray ( you spray it on before you straighten) you might be able to say "if i use this first.. it will burn the spray and not my hair" then if he sees the steam you can say its because of the spray

also, tell him you wont use it everyday.. and using a good conditioner will keep it healthier

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Don't chemically straighten your hair. A good, ceramic plated flat iron (inexpensive $30 is Remington Wet2Straight...I use it in the salon...or expensive $120 would be a CHI iron) won't damage your hair if you are sure to use a good thermal spray (CHI Iron Guard, V05 Miracle Mist are both great) and don't iron your hair DAILY. At most do it every other day. Try to stretch your shampoos to every other day, that way there's no need to blow dry and straighten daily.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

just use a hair straightener thats what i use for mine

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

It kind of does, and I know this personally, until I started to do it only 1-2 times a week and my hair was alot healthier. You'll be ok if you don't overdo it and find one with plenty of ceramic material- here's a great site, I have the 3rd straightener on the list.

http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh...

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

you can do it your self just by the box from beauty supply it's under $10 just read instructions I think you just saturated on you hair comb it and wait then follow instruction.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

ok heres wat you do.... go to wal-mart and you can get several different brands in this stuff... its heat protectant stuff for your hair.. ive bought it in VO5 and Suave and they both work really good.... i use to have damaged hair from my straightner and started using that and now my hair is healthy again.. so just go to the store and show your dad that they have that stuff and that should do the trick unless he doesnt want to buy it for(which would be dumb) lol

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Buy a straightener with your own money so you don't have to prove anything to your dad.

How comes so many peoples' parents around here try to pass decrees on what their children can and can't do with their hair?

Jesus Christ.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Take him to talk with the hairdresser. That will set him straight and make him very conmfortable with the end result.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

I use a flat iron to straighten my har. They sell protective spray to use prior so it won't damage your hair. I have never chemically straightened it though. Have your dad talk to a professional hairstylist to reassure him.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

honey I'm sorry to spill it to you but IT WILL what it does is it burns not only you but it burns your hair little by little

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

It's gonna damage your hair to some degree, but you can reduce the effects of the damage.

Use a moisturising shampoo+conditioner and make sure to deep condition it every other week or so. Then you should get a good heat protectant to use on your hair before you straighten it (I use "soya want flat hair" by healthy sexy hair, but there are some good ones you can buy at the store too like treseme or pantene).

Also, make sure you have a good straightening iron. I would get a ceramic ones as those distribute heat evenly and shouldn't fry your hair if used correctly. Don't straighten your hair while it's still wet, thats really bad for it.

If you're gentle with your hair it will stay pretty healthy =)

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

use a chi. its expensive, but if used right, it straightens and doesn't damage ur hair basically. but all straightening does a lil. but only if u ave like curly hair, then it becomes wavy if u straighten it every day. u kno?

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

I'm gonna be honest with you. I have the same type of hair that you do and I got a perm.

I regret it to this day...

It strips your hair of texture and it does damage your hair. And if you're as unlucky as I was, it'll take your hair out if you allow someone else to put it in and leave it in too long.. or if you leave it in too long yourself.

If I were you I'd stay far away from them. I wish I had, now I have to get them or my hair will come out.... again...

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Using a regular flat iron, will damage your hair over time. Using an iron made to straighten hair, wont necessarily damage your hair if you use straightening products to protect your hair from the heat of the iron. I really don't think you have to worry about much... just make sure you don't iron your hair when its wet.. its best ironed after its cleaned, and blow dried.

(Even if the hair straightening treatments were cheap, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless you have a natural extreme frizz.)

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

Chemical Reconstruction of the hair shaft is very damaging to the hair. It will destroy the integrity of the hair.

Im trying to prove to my dad that straightening wont damage my hair?

tell him you will use heat protector. it will protext your hair from heat obviously.

I've done the chemically straightening after tht my hair get damaged. wht can nw i do for recovery?

You will require regular deep conditioning treatments and possibly may lose the damaged hair.

I would recommend speaking to a hairdresser

I've done the chemically straightening after tht my hair get damaged. wht can nw i do for recovery?

I've done the chemically straightening after tht my hair get damaged. wht can nw i do for recovery?

OGM! Its bad? I was gonna do that, too bad.. Hahhaha.. Just take it for.. whats that thing?? when u go %26amp; get ur hair healthy? Thats what u should do!!

I did Japanese Straightening to my hair.I want to dye it & bought Loreal Feria & it has pero

I WLDNT.

DEF DON'T.

japanese straigthtenin is very damaging, if you dye it and it has to many chemicals, YOUR HAIR WILL BREAK AND FALL OUT!!

this happend to my friend.

don't do a home dye job,

go to your stylist and ask her to do it

or else just ask her for some reccomendations of gentle dyes that you can use at home, and what precautions to use while doing it with your striaghtened hair

I did Japanese Straightening to my hair.I want to dye it %26amp; bought Loreal Feria %26amp; it has peroxide. Can I use it?

Don't do it. Most salons that do the straightening won't do it for you if your hair has been dyed.. because of the possibility of breakage. The same goes for dying it after having the straightetning done. If your hair doesn't fall out from dying it now, then the hairstylists will refuse to fix your roots when they grow in later because its been dyed.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

Ok so I have curly hair. I really love my hair straightened.

I use a flat iron to straighten it. But in winter or cold weather

It goes POOF!! Are there any products that will keep my hair straight for the day? Or for a while? I don't want to get it straightened at the salon though. Too much money.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

okey this is weird at it works my hair is straight and i somethimeme want it curly well if i regulery curl it 10mint it isstraight agian wat i do is but beer on it or moose or gell best is beer...

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

I find that a small amount of hair spray does the trick.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

wash ur hair dry a lil bit then mouse it.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

Go to your hair dresser and get it chemically straightened.

Ok you don't want to go there, you can get some moose type products that can help straighten hair, but I'd say get it chemically done. It lasts 1/2 to 1 year if treated right

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

hair spray/gel

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

John Frieda's products, Frizz-ease, are really good and you can get them at any drugstore orTarget type place.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

All you have to do is straighten it out at night and then the morning. Do that for awhile and then poof it will soon be straightened.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

I'm a huge fan of Matrix products. The sleek and shine line is the best.

Flat iron spray on dry hair before straightening and the oil after straightening to keep moisture in and reduce poof.

I've used it for 2 years and it even works on humid days.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

I will never straighten my curly hair ever again.I over did it and now I have a curly mullet, because I had to cut off the ends of the bangs. It looks so disgusting but use sunsilk anti-poof.Or just relax your hair for the winter.Relax hair always seems to be down.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

Try blowdrying it straight right after washing it. This will set your hair straight. Then you can easily use a straightening iron each morning to straighten what's going back to the curly.

There are also straightening conditioners or whatnot that you can use in the shower that will straighten it somewhat before you start straightening.

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

I have the same problem. The lady at the salon gave me this paul mitchell serum and it helps your hair from humidity. It's for $16 and it lasts a long time. It also makes your hair shinier. Buy it from a JCpenny salon and if you don't like it you can return it anytime even if you use the whole thing!!

How Do I Keep My Hair Straight?!?!?

use hair grease. like PInk. u can find these in beauty styles or Walmart, K mart, or just a little bit of hair spray

Whats the best straightening iron for hair that tends to frizz up easily?

Help finding hair brush/comb that will help..?

ok so when i went to get my hair japanese hair straightened, the stylist used this little brush or comb that pulled onto my hair and i think some of my hairs came out. then when i went to get my bangs trimmed at this other place the same brush thing was used. if anyone knows, please tell me what it's called or where i can get it. because i seem to just have alot of hair-and so what i was thinking was that if i use that brush i won't have as much and my hair would look straighter..any advice or help=please respond!!!!!!! thanks you =]

Help finding hair brush/comb that will help..?

It is a razor comb.. But just like it was already stated, if you have frizzy hair already it will make you look like you have dead ends. Also, if you do decide to try this yourself then be careful, if you thin out the wrong spots too much it could be a disaster.. GOOD LUCK

Help finding hair brush/comb that will help..?

It isn't actually pulling your hair out... its breaking it. This isn't good because it will cause your hair to look frizzy.

Help finding hair brush/comb that will help..?

Hmmm, maybe a razor comb? It looks like a regular comb but it has a blade in it so when you comb your hair it thins it out some. You can get them at usually all Beauty Supply stores.

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

actually the ceramic straightening irons are much better for your hair then straightening irons without ceramic plates. all heat styling tools are 'bad' for your hair so you just have to be careful on how much you use them and use heat protectant spray.

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

Anything that uses heat to style your hair damages it. Make sure you use a protective heat spray like PANTENE DAMAGE DEFENDER SPRAY. And make sure your hair is dry when you straighten it.

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

If it you straighten your hair too much, any form of heat repeatedly used will damage your hair. Ceramic are suppose to be the best, but still can damage your hair. It is also important to note that when straightening your hair make sure it is completely dry not wet.

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

they do if u use them in access

last year i straightned my hair everyday and didnt get it cut for six months so it damaged my hair

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

Heat in general is not great for hair, but ceramic is much better than any metal, which will burn your hair faster. Use a heat protectant spray (my favorite is a professional brand: Matrix sleek look line). And buy a weekly conditioning mask, to help keep the hair healthy. (And limit the use of your iron, and dont hold the iron in one place- keep it constantly moving, just as you would a hair dryer to prevent hair from being burned)

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

yeah......i think they burn them out ,but if you put biosilk or a serum to protect it then it wont do as much damage...

Do ceramic straightening irons ruin hair?

Something else I would like to add. Sure, the heat can cause damage to your hair. There are some things that affect this that have not been mentioned yet:

- the smoothness of the plates is important. Ceramic plates are thought to be the smoothest plates you can use. That helps minimize any damage due to 'friction'. At a microscopic scale, a rough hot surface is like a scouring pad on your hair.

- the plates can have hot and cold spots. Again, usually not a problem with the higher end models but some cheap ones do not provide consistent heating. That can cause you to get poor results on the first pass. This means you normally will use 2 or more passes on the same section of hair which can excessively damage the hair

- flat irons need to be cleaned regularly (especially if you use 'leave-in' conditioning products

- not all types of hair can stand up to the heat of many hair straightners. If you have the budget, go for a model that has a variable heat control (Sedu or CHI Turbo for example). Fine or damaged hair needs lower heat settings than thick hair.

- the amount you use it. Think about the fashion models you see on the run ways. They have to get about the most abuse on their hair than anyone else. If their hair can stand up to this over-use, I have to think, we can too by using our straighteners properly and getting one that promises professional results. If you plan to use it once in a blue moon, than I think any decent unit in your budget is fine

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

Is it possible to straighten hair without using a straightener and a hair spray. Coz i always curl my hair without using a curler, by just twisting it and tieng it bfor i go to sleep. I just want to know if theres a way i could straighten it without the machines

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

Use an iron and an ironing board.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

You can use a steam Iron, At least that's how Robin Tunney did it in the movie Cherish when she was under house arrest

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

tied fiftty pound weights to it, or comb it for a long time

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

use an iron!!!!

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

blow dry it straight

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

you could blow dry it straight.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

Brush and blow dryer.

I wouldn't use an actualy iron. The temps are much higher then a hair iron so unless you want to risk singing your hair I would pass.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

depends what your hair is like

You do get hair straightening gels but most of them are pretty rubbish.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

Try a gentle perm. Professionally of course. Don't do it yourself. You might damage your beautiful curls...

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

you have to soak some mud in a tub then coat your hair in it for a day. after this your hair will be perfectly straight

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

a hot curler but jut don't curl

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

You can try the Chi Iron after you straighten your hair. Do I recommend it after everytime you blow dry your hair?? Absolutely not. Doing the iron on a daily basis can damage your hair especially if you have thin hair. Good luck!!! =)

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

blow dry it

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

after a shower just leave a towel around your shoulders and let the water drip from your hair. Hot water would be best, and repeat a few times. But the results still won't be as good as using a strightner

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

you can use pink moisturizer and a hot comb, ok?

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

There isnt a way you can blow dry your hair and use serum.. but thats about it.. Otherwise im sure i wouldnt have damaged hair!

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

I'm pretty sure that if you brush your hair thoroughly after a shower it will straighten your hair. If that does not work, then you need a straightener.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

go to your hair stylist and get it permenently striaghtened or relaxed, this is a chemical process which will keep in perfectly straight for at least 3 months, i have curly hair naturally and mines now straight all the time

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

spray hair with alot of water, then comb hair with wide tooth comb. rub leave in conditioner on your hands and then put on hair from root to tip. let dry like this

or

instead of curlin your hair with curlers, try twisting curlers the opposite way that your curls go :) this is a great way to get straight hair!

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

combing it out....for me...i comb my hair and put it in a bun at night......i got long hair too...so when i undo it in the morning.....the top and middle section are straight, but the bottom, it has couple of nice waves.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

If your talking about not using chemicals, there are straiting irons on the market. It's kinda like a curling iron only it's flat.

Real easy to do.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

You can relax it if your hair is realy curly, but, you'll always have a wave at the end. all you have to do is put it in tight pony tail right out of the shower if your hair is short, or put it in a twist or a bun or a braid.

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

what i would say is use relaxer it would really give you a straight look and u wouldnt have to use a iron or those hot tools

How can u straighten your hair without using a straitener?

1. don't have layers 2. drip dry your hair and comb straight

3. use a straitening shampoo 4. use a strighting stray 5. use a blowdryer

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

my hair is blonde and really poofy and sorta wavy. i recently got this new haircut, with layers in the back and slanted bangs that part across my face over my left eye.

and now it only looks good if its straight....so i have to straighten it EVERY DAY.

what is an easier way to get it straight that actually works and doesnt take so much time?

thanks!

%26lt;3

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

i've already recommended this to another user, and she seemed satisfied with my suggestion. if you want your hair at least semi-permanently straightened, try loreal x-tenso. i say semi-permanently because your hair will grow back to its previous condition (wavy, a bit poofy). but believe me when i say that trying the l'oreal x-tenso treatment was one of the few truly life-changing decisions i have made. i had hair almost like yours (mine's black, i'm a filipina). it was coarse and thick and poofy and wavy. i felt really unattractive. then i went to a l'oreal kerastase salon, spent around $150-200 for the x-tenso treatment, looked in the salon mirror, and saw a miracle. my hair was glorious. "shampoo-commercial"-gorgeous. i use this term over and over again when i tell people about it, because that's really how my hair looked. i thought that it looked that way probably because my hairstylist ironed it, and maybe if i washed it at home it'll puff up again. but no. it was still gorgeous! i didn't even have to iron it! all i needed was a smoothing cream, or leave-in conditioner. it was immaculate. believe me.

now, i'm not sure if the treatment will produce the same result on your hair. you should ask a hairstylist if your hair can take it, because the treatment will make it a bit dry. that's not a huge problem. just condition, condition, condition, and get regular trims. after about 8 months to a year, you may need to get the treatment again, but that's way better than having to iron your hair every single day.

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

perm your hair .The straighting will last longer. Than you having to do it every day.Just find a good hairdresser!

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

You can chemicly straighten it. I did that and it worked. Now I don't even have to touch a straightener.

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

I have LONG curly hair. i got my hair chemically straightened but all it does is reduce the curl a little but it makes it a ton easier to straighten. just dont wash your hair EVERY single day when you straighten it. And learn to work WITH your hair not against it. Just straighten your bangs and let the rest be curly/ wavy theres plenty of products that can help you.

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

i find combing my hair strait when i'm done showering, and then tossing a hat or hood on while it drys helps.

also, you could try different shampoos and conditioners. some have ingredients that can help straighten hair. Sunsilk has a "straighten up" line, although that shampoo/conditioner is cheap, so i would suggest buying more expensive, salon quality stuff. remember to talk to your stylist for free advice next time you see them. good luck.

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

well you could get it chemically straightened or relaxed, but that's not very good for your hair- but still it's a solution

or you could just wash your hair every other night so you dont have to straighten it every day- i would also buy a good hair protectant spray like thing, that should proctect your hair from some damage and hold it in longer

*good luck :)

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

It depends how curly your hair is a straight perm will calm very curly hair down a little and will do wonders for wavy hair!!!!!

But on the other hand there is a Japanise straight perm which will set u back around 100 pounds but tht leaves your hair really straight and I should know because my hair is really tight curls and it makes you hair shine gorgeous

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

sorry but i do not know if it is possible

Okay how do i get my hair to stay straight like permanantly without constantly straightening it?

you can get it chemically straightened at the hairdresses.

will cost about 100$

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

With Heat styling tools?

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

I have never heard of baldness...but unfortunately burnt, dried, frizzy, unmanageable hair is the result u get with continued straightening over along period of time!

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

good question! i dont know the answer. im answerin so i can come back and read the other answers later

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

No.

But it can damage the hair if you do use heat styling tools everyday.

If you do that, its best to give your hair a rest %26amp; a use a deep conditioner once a week.

You don't want to have brittle, damaged hair, trust me :)

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

straightening does damage your hair, i dont think it will fall out. but it is really bad maybe if you straighten it so much like everyday, just get a perm so your hair doesn't burn out. although perms are expensive.

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

Without proper hair care, yes, you can lose hair. The burning and singeing of hair from overly hot tools causes breakage that can lead to hair falling out.

Does excessive straightening of the hair lead to baldness?

I don't think so, but i do know that excessive straightening makes ur hair get the burnt dry look. I suggest that before you straighten it, use those heat protectors thing. And also, make sure you use conditioners to make ur hair stay soft and shiny. Like Dove Shampoo and Conditioner. I use it and love the results. Leave the conditioner on for 2-3 minutes and you'll love the results, i hope. xD

Does rebonding(permanent straightening) damage our hair? How should we take care of rebonded hair?

as rebonding is a chemical process, it will dry your hair. However, normally when i rebond my hair, i will get a hair treatment in the same session as well. And when i wash my hair, i will condition it and avoid blow drying it.

Does rebonding(permanent straightening) damage our hair? How should we take care of rebonded hair?

like all chemical treatments such as perming or chemstr8

its going to take alot of neutrients out of your hair. So if you are going to have it done, get a hot oil treatment and mineral conditioner afterwards.

Goodluck :D

Does rebonding(permanent straightening) damage our hair? How should we take care of rebonded hair?

no,i don't think u need much of those! after all they're chemicals as well, but i personally advise a good diet + vitamin e consumption.

I was asking the same question before i do it myself!u get all kinds of answers!

Please answer soon, and if anyone wants to share their personal experiences with a chemical straightening kit, please tell me. Thanks alot.

Where can i get a chemical straightening kit and for how much?

You can buy them at the grocery store in the hair color section for probably about $20. I bought one once but never used it because you need another person to help you and no one would. So find a trustworthy friend who'll do it with you!

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

What is so attractive about it? I personally like wavy hair better.

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

well i think that i can answer this! I have curly thick hair and i remember last year it looked to bad and pooffy!! and then when my mom would straight her hair i would ask her to do mine, and i loved it! it looked better and not poffy and also everyone else had straight hair! i remember last year i used to straight my hair 24/7 but then my hair becamse really damadged! now i dont straight my hair that much and i live it curly! i love my curly hair! its sooooo cute and unusually! and i think that you should have hair thats ur natural hair! Also lots of kids hate to take care of their hair! That what i hated to do! its was too hard to do with curly hair, so when my hair was straight i really didnt have to take care of it that much. Anyways kids just straight their hair so they dont ahve to work hard to take care of it...

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

I really do not know they just do it sometimes i do

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

Because people have different opinions about what they want their hair to look like. Some people look bad when they don't straighten their hair... like me.

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

Wow, thats a good question. So many teens do it at my school, they are all of the stupid prep-cheerleader girls though. I straighten mine because I have natural wave, wich isn't pretty and it makes my hair look really stupid if I leave it as it is. So straightening kind of tames it and it looks shiny-er when I do. However, I love curling my hair too.

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

coming from a teen- I have no idea why we like straight hair, i think it's just really cool i guess. It's like idk,i can't get my hair straight so I just like looking,it looks kinda emo sometimes but that's kinda hawtt lol

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

because... it's just the new thing.

it's unavoidable.

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

My hair sticks up/out about 8 inches because its so curly(and its long too) and it looks HORRIBLE... then when I straighten it, it looks so much better. Personally I think only straight hair looks good on teens unles they're complete dorks. And I'm not a prep, either, so...

Why does the straightening of one's hair appeal to teenagers so much?

I straighten my hair because I had awesome straight hair all my life till i was 13.

Then it got really wavy and I hated it.

also my hair is thick and looks crazy wavy.

And I like my hair long and flat ironing it makes it longer.

And shiner.

And makes it more healthy looking.

And I just like straight hair better.

Everyone has their own opinion.

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls

Just like anything dramatic you do to your hair it has it's side effect often split ends and a tendency to be very dry. Plus when it grows out the top of your head has it's natural curl to it so unless you plan on cutting it make sure you can afford to keep up with regular maintenance.

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

ask a hairstylist... not these amatures here on YA! ........ :)

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

waist length?! wow thats long...i think it could be harmful since ur messing with hair thats meant to be curly..i think u should cut ur hair a little shorter and just straighten it with..a straightener. :D

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

yes and very thin and it will eventually start falling out

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

its long

thats the important thing

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

im not sure i was thinking about getting permanently straigh hair also.....ive had my hair pressed a few times and my wasnt damaged.....i have very unruly unmanagable spiral curly hair was thinking bout getting permanent straightining so i wouldnt have to worry and obsess about my hair too much during the school year...

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

Anytime you use a chemical on your hair, it's harmful for your hair. The key is to keep it well conditioned at all times, %26amp; try not to use heat on your hair if you can help it.

**Blazin 22* I'm no amatuer!!!!!

Is permanent straightening harmful for hair? i have waist lenght hair but very curly and rough!!pls help!?

Well it's like a four hour process and the chemicals that they use are drying, being that you won't have to use much heat for about a year with lots of conditioner you'll be fine

Is japanese straightening bad for your hair?

Does it dry out your hair? If you have gotten it done, please answer!

Is japanese straightening bad for your hair?

I guess you mean yuko how whatever it's called. I know a few people who tried it and they're very happy with how their hair turned out. I think it's water based more than anything and here is a link you might find usefull.

And by the way, a friend of mine wanted to get it done, but as soon as the woman at the saloon saw that her hair isn't exactly a virgin as she put it -She's been doing alot of things with it, relaxing it colouring it and such- she told her to wait until all that grew so she'd be able to cut it before using yuko on her hair.

Is japanese straightening bad for your hair?

I would take a educated guess and say no, because all Japanese women have beautiful hair!

If i put Wella straightening cream in my hair in every 6 months or a year will it effect my hair?

will it effect me like hair breakage, hair fall, hardness, etc.

If i put Wella straightening cream in my hair in every 6 months or a year will it effect my hair?

I'm not overly familiar with wella but I am with straightening cream, so, straightening cream is a harsh chemical, if you do it make sure you have very good treatment cause your hair will need it, with most straightening cream after the first treatment you should only need to do your roots-not all the hair again. I warn you if your trying to do it yourself its very easy to screw up so follow the directions. You may have a lot of breakage, it will problerly feel quite 'stripped' (which is why I cant stress a great treatment enough) also if you bleach your hair or its not in the best condition dont do it or go to a salon.

Most people love it after but just be careful.

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

umm. right now my hair iss poofy and wavyy. how can i get it as flat as possible??

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

Use heat protectant, and use hairspray, mousse, gel afterwards.

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

buy a straighting iron

its a miracle

you can get them very cheap at target or even rite aid or you can get a pro one at a beauty supply store

if your hair is REALLY curly or wavy then get one from a beauty supply store

you can also try herbal essances straighting products!!

hope i help =]

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

use heat protectant without alcohol or water in it which just gets your hair ready for frying. use an oil based product.

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

I really like Redken for straightening and smoothing.Start by blow drying with a smoothing lotion, Redken's Satinware is awesome, TIGI's S-line is also good. Then use a thermal protecting straighting serum like Redken's Smooth Down Heat Glide with a solid ceramic flat iron, CHI or ghd are top of the line. Finish with a humidity resistant hairspray like Redken's Quickdry, this will protect against curl, poof, and frizz for the day, even in moist climates.

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

What you could do is get a relaxer. I have really culy hair and I got my hair straight. Its sick. I suggest you get it done at a salon. I really dont know how much it would cost though cuz i get it free from my aunt but ask for some quotes. The thing you need to worry about is that it will damage your hair, you cant dye it afterward or anything. If you dont want to go through all that trouble just keep it curly, wavy. Its sexy. hah

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

Use a heat protector like Nexxus. I just recently bought Nexxus and it works great and smells good. It takes away frizz and makes it smooth and flat when straightening it. It's very light when you spray it on your hair and doesn't feel sticky (I hate it when it feels sticky). I know it's a little pricey but i think it is well worth it.

Products to use when straightening pooofy wavy hair.??

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

I'm sick of my curly hair. Has anyone had a relaxer done at a salon? Did it damage your hair?

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

I'm a professional stylist and what the relaxer does is breaks down the cuticle layers of the hair and restructures it, making the curl less or non-existant depending on the length of time the product is on the hair and the strength of the product. I used to have them done FAITHFULLY and now I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole. I refuse to do the service because it strips your hair down making it weaker and thinner, thus less healthy. I would suggest either flat-ironing or pressing your hair (with a pressing comb) BUT do these things in moderation, for if too much heat is applied to the hair (even in blowdrying), it can damage and break it off as well. Sorry this answer is so long but I hope it helps you out.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

of course its bad for your hair you knob. It burns it.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

yes it is really bad for your hair i personally have not had it done but my best friend went and had hers dont it left her hair so dry and brittle it was horrible......it got so bad that finally she decided to go get it permed so it looked decent...

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

it depends if you contuine with it of not. my hair was nappy but eva since i got my perm i love it and my hair is growing.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

ohhhhhhh yeah... but im a white girl who did it and it seems like it goes a lot better with black girls... anyway its really weird after it grows out and you have a straight line where your hair goes from curly to straight... and leaving it in too long can make you bald

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

yes it is, be sure to condition it and try not to use other means of drying it out such as over using a hair dryer or straightening iron.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

yeah it is bad but i had curly hair and i did it. if it is first time its not so damaging. but be careful.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

Yes it can damage the hair. I used to do but then decided I liked my curls. If you do it make sure you use a lot of conditioner to keep the hair as healthy as you can. WHen I did the straighening, I went in once a week for a deep conditioning treatment.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

This is the 1st time in 18 years that I have not had a relaxer and I would not recomend anyone to get a relaxer. It strips your hair and eventually your hair will break off.

Is chemical straightening bad for your hair?

It will be a little damaging to your hair, but that's why they have conditioner

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

HAs anyone ever tried the straighteners you can use on wet hair? Do they actually work? It seems impossible that they work well. JUst wondering...

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

hey, yeah, i got one for Christmas. NO, they don't work well at ALL!! they don't dry your hair very good, much less straighten it. it takes FOREVER, even if you have short hair, it takes a long time. the whole thing is just a load of crap, thinking that you can save time, but i would suggest just sticking with a hair dryer and regular flat iron. it works much better.

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

theres remington wet to straight hair straightener

i have it

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

yeah. i use Conair's WetToStraight straightener.

it works perfectly! just, don't use it RIGHT after your hair gets wet. let it dry on it's own some.

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

it does....but it kills your hair.... straghting your hair is bad for it but doing it wet is WAY worse

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

the blow dryer that have straightening combs kinda work but you hve to like dry your hair first then do it, so it takes quite a while

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

My friend has it. And actually, her hair has never been more dry. Reason ? Because it is actually more stressful to your hair to do it wet. I would go into some major explanation, but its too confusing.

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

Wet to Straight, they work. I have one and I am pleased, you can use it on dry hair too!

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

Yeah it does.......But it just dry your hair out and starts to break off and it will just fry your hair......!!!!!! :( :)

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

yes they actually work, I have the T3 sold at sephora.com

its about $200. but it works for both dry and wet hair. it still works well on wet hair, it dries it really quickly.

the only thing though it doesn't give you the same results as if you had blow dried your hair first.

so, get a regular flat iron with ceramic plates. worth the $$

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

n oit has not ever worked and it impossible while wet.

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

like marinarafat said, theres the remington wet to straight, its about $25, $30. I dont like to use it on wet hair because it really fries it, it becomes really dry and just feels horrible when you touh it. But if i have to use it occasionally, i do. Using it rarely is okay on wet hair. But it works great on dry hair...best flat iron i ever had

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

Wet To Dry Chi Ceramic Flat Iron Hair Straightener..if thats to expensive for you then try..Remington wet 2 straight..Yes, it does actually work..I have a Chi Wet/Dry and it seems to work the best for my hair type...I don't use mine very much though.

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

those things make your hair smell pretty bad and burnt from wet

Straightening Iron for Wet Hair?

think of it like this hair when wet will need to get rid or ALL the moisture in it to end up straight which equals complete loss of hair moisture which equals dry dead hair not just at the tips but all over.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

I have mad curly hair and am getting a bit fed up. How does a hairdresser straighten hair permanently and does is do a lot of damage to your hair? Also how long before it starts curling again? I have tried straighteners but they don't make it last long even the GHD ones.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

Anytime you apply a chemical process to the hair you weaken it, especially if you indulge in multiple processes (straightening/perming AND coloring). Everyone wants what they don't have. There are women out there who would kill to have curly hair. Why not ask your hairdresser to help you with the best haircut %26amp; products to work with your hair, not against it.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

Read some hair straightening tips and more on this site to help you with it

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

It will not just go back curly, it will grow out curly if you go to the hairdressers. Assuming you have it relaxed that is (ie as a black person would).

I noticed today that Boots are doing a home chemical straightening kit now, maybe that might be worth looking at.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

Vaseline worked for my sister about 40 years ago. Thing is, she was 2 when she did that - did straighten her hair forever though.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

they will put in a straightening serum and it takes ages but in the end your hair will be straight. it does cause damage. but so do straighteners. it eventually grows out so you would have to keep having your hair striaghtened. but beware you'l never be as curly as you are now as it keeps your hair wavy if it grows out.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

yes, it is very damaging to your hair to straighten it chemically. Just learn to love the hair you have. Go to a GOOD hairdresser and learn some good tips on how to style your hair curly...also what products to use when you straighten your hair with a flat iron. Use a GOOD flat iron, such as a CHI...it's not cheap, but it's better for your hair and you will get it mich straighter and smoother. Also, make sure you use a good product to protect your hair when using a flat iron. Go to a beauty Supply or ask your stylist for a reccomendation. Also, using an Ionizing blow dryer will help straighten and smooth.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

boots now do a home straightening kit. i dont know how good it is. be carefull because you can only use them on virgin hair!!

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

You should buy a flat iron. I have curly hair and the flat iron has become my best friend for my hair. If you also use the right products you can straighten your hair and it will still look healthy. At a salon they will put a chemical relaxer in your hair to release the curls. That is fine for a bit, but I believe that it will do damage over time, and it may also ruin your curl (meaning it won't curl again for you). I say enjoy your curls, but get that flat iron for your hair. You will love it!!

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

hey ther.. I know all about uncontrollable hair..lol.. I have really static frizzy hair myself with some curls in it. Anyways, ive been working in different hairdresser salons and what im used to when people ask how they can remove their curls is to do it the same way as when u want curls.. just without the rolls.. They brush ur hair flat instead, and ur curls should ease down.. What u should do anyways, is ask in a salon where they see ur hair.. the quality and everything.. Then they decide whats the best thing to do.. .. What about a flatening iron???..

good luck anyways:)

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

They use the same solution as they would for a perm except they keep brushing it through instead of putting curlers in and yes it is damaging to your hair. My little sister had it done and it make it more frizzy than anything, it looked better curly than frizzy

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

There is no way to "permanently" straighten hair. It is curly because of the shape of the hair follicles and that is permanent. Hair straighteners are chemically very similar to perms, and thus can damage hair in the same way. How long it takes to start curling again depends upon how fast your hair grows and how long or short you keep it.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

I had a friend who had her hair chemically straightened at the hairdressers and it was damaged for years until it grew out so I would really avoid this! Your hair can be straighten first by washing and towel drying apply lots of Hair Mousse and blow dry straight as much as you can, then take hair in inch sections and straighten with the GHDs if you dont believe this will work go into any hair dressers and ask them to blow dry your hair dead straight and you will see it can be done - good Luck!

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

http://www.gorobar.com/index.asp

this is a really good site have a look !!!!

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

You have to do it permanently, they use a cream from your roots out to your ends and then wash it out. You have to redo your roots from time to time as you hair grows out and get treatments done so you don't get damage.

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

People with baby-fine straight hair live their lives fed up with their straight hair too... Everybody has hair issues.

Enjoy your curly hair. Make the most of it. Keep it nice and healthy. Isn't there some conditioner or other product like that that would make your hair easier to deal with without damaging it?

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

As far as im aware you can put a straightener on which is basicaly a perm and keep combing it through. It'll do the same damage as having your hair permed if it was straight. It'll last till your roots start getting longer usually 4 to 6 months.I was a hairdressers apprentice about 20years ago but left cos the pay was rubbish. Hope this might help

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

use Remington straightener.......and use moisture hair anti frizz serum

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

As a Licensed Cosmetologist, I recommend you see a professional to get a consultation, because before anyone can give you advice they NEED to see your hair to tell you what may be good for your hair, as you know every individuals' hair is different.

I can tell you the process of you hair getting chemically straightened though.

The chemical used is called a Relaxer and is used to "relax" your natural curl pattern to as straight as you would desire.

This chemical is applied to your hair from root to end (not in that order) and as it enters your hair cortex (inner most layer of hair strand) the cross bonds (sulfur and hydrogen) are broken. The action of the comb (or hands) in smoothing the hair is distrubuting the chemical while it straightens the hair.

After hair is at it's desired straightness and is rinsed out at the sink, a Neutralizing shampoo is applied and it's job is to sopt the action of any chemical relaxer that may remain in the hair after rinsing. (A second Neutralizing shampoo may be necessary to bring the hair down to a normal ph since the relaxers' ph factor is between 12 to 14, and any normal ph is at level 7)

After the Neutralization is done the hair needs to be conditioned. Your hair is towl blotted and conditioner is applied to offset the harshness of the sodium hydroxide in the relaxer and to help restore some of the natual oils to the scalp and hair.

Styling: Relaxed hair is in a weakened condition. To avoid hair breakage, excessive heat and excessive stretching should be avoided. Blow drying and Thermal/flat iron curling can be used but at a strict minimum. I recommend getting a roller set since the hair dryer blows out even heat and the style lasts longer.

This chemical is called a permanent because the hair that we can see will be permanently changed, but the hair that has yet to grow will grow out and your natural curl will return. And that all depends on how fast your hair grows but usually this process lasts for 6 weeks before you need a touch-up. ( A touch up is having the same chemical relaxed applied to only the new growth/roots of your hair). This chemical is also used in Texturizing the hair, only it is not left on for 20 minutes as a full process would be, but only for 7 minutes max. and a comb is not used, just hands. and the texturizing process is not to straighten but just to loosen up and relax your natural curls to make them more manageable and less frizzy and tangled.

I hope this info helps and please keep in mind that whatever you do to your hair can be damaging (whether it be sitting in the sun or using a flat iron). It all depends on how well you take care of it. Remember hair is alive and it needs to be nurtured just as much as your body.

Happy hair!

Permanently Straighten Curly Hair.?

Ask your hairdresser about chemical straightening. I had it done and would definitley recommend it. Your hair is sectioned off and the chemical is spread onto your hair with a brush. It takes about 3 hours depending on the length of your hair. Mine cost 鎷?5. It was so much easy to manage and sooo much easier to straighten.
