well i think that i can answer this! I have curly thick hair and i remember last year it looked to bad and pooffy!! and then when my mom would straight her hair i would ask her to do mine, and i loved it! it looked better and not poffy and also everyone else had straight hair! i remember last year i used to straight my hair 24/7 but then my hair becamse really damadged! now i dont straight my hair that much and i live it curly! i love my curly hair! its sooooo cute and unusually! and i think that you should have hair thats ur natural hair! Also lots of kids hate to take care of their hair! That what i hated to do! its was too hard to do with curly hair, so when my hair was straight i really didnt have to take care of it that much. Anyways kids just straight their hair so they dont ahve to work hard to take care of it...

Wow, thats a good question. So many teens do it at my school, they are all of the stupid prep-cheerleader girls though. I straighten mine because I have natural wave, wich isn't pretty and it makes my hair look really stupid if I leave it as it is. So straightening kind of tames it and it looks shiny-er when I do. However, I love curling my hair too.

coming from a teen- I have no idea why we like straight hair, i think it's just really cool i guess. It's like idk,i can't get my hair straight so I just like looking,it looks kinda emo sometimes but that's kinda hawtt lol

My hair sticks up/out about 8 inches because its so curly(and its long too) and it looks HORRIBLE... then when I straighten it, it looks so much better. Personally I think only straight hair looks good on teens unles they're complete dorks. And I'm not a prep, either, so...

I straighten my hair because I had awesome straight hair all my life till i was 13.

Then it got really wavy and I hated it.

also my hair is thick and looks crazy wavy.

And I like my hair long and flat ironing it makes it longer.

And shiner.

And makes it more healthy looking.

And I just like straight hair better.
