Im considering getting my hair chemically straightened..anyone done it before???

the japanese straightening system..my stylist recommended another stylist who will do it for 150 dollars.. and I have "virgin" hair.. which she says is the best kind to do this on.. Ive never colored it or highlighted it or anything.. its just thick and frizzy and wavy unless I flat iron it..

has anyone has this done? is it worth it? what are the results like? What was your hair like before and after? Do you happen to know of a site where I can find stylists in my area that do it?? Or sites with Before %26amp; After

pics??

THANKS!!

my cousin's done it before, and her hair seems to become more and more messed up at the roots when her hair finally grows back in. and she has this annoying bang on the side that just looks out of place and she can't even make it straight with her flat iron on the most intense heat setting. i mean, it looks really nice, but when the roots grow in, it looks like a mess and it's hard to manage.

but because i have had no experience whatsoever with hair straightening, here's the website to an article in which a woman recounts her experience:

My friend did it and it only lasted like 4 months but she loved it in the time being.

No I never chemically straighting my hair, but what you can do ask people around your neighborhood and then maybe they can help you. And just maybe you can go to the hair salon and they can tell how it work or even maybe tell you stuff about you and your getting chemically straight.

I chemically straigthen my hair using a relaxer.

It can dry your hair out %26amp; you have to be sure to use extra conditioner on a regualr basis.

You can have it done at a salon for $50-$75 average. It lasts about 3 months %26amp; then you do it again.

If you get used to it, you can buy your own relaxer kit at the drugstore for less than $10 %26amp; do it yourself.

i have my hair chemocally straightened but i dont know if it it the japanese way...i have "magic straight" straight perm. if u wanna staighten ur hair do the magic straight one cuz it is so worth it. it looks weird for the firlst 2-3 days but then people will always complement on your beautiful hair. it looks smooth and silky and beautiful. it lasts until the hair that was straightened grows out and gets cut.

hi my friend!

they tell u it will work on ur hair ,and u will love the result because of their bussiness. if i were u i didnt do that!

cause all of these products for straightening hair keep ur hair straight and nice for 1 or 2 months and after that ur hair become worst.

dont damage ur nice curly hair with these stupid things!

just learn to style ur own hair.

with healthy products.

some advice for frizzy curly thick hair.

first 1.wash ur hair just 3 times a week.

2. dont leave shampoo fir along time on ur hair, wash ur hair good%26amp;fast.

3. buy a very good conditionor like TiGi if u found in ur area or sth else good. cover it just on ur footstalk/stem of ur hair.

not the root of ur hair. and leave it for 15 mins.

then wash it with warm water.

4. just alitle dry ur hair, and when ur hair is wet and dry mix. put hairWAx or try Friz ease ... OR after washing it just get a light gel and rub it between your hands then run your fingers thru your hair gently just enough to have pretty curls then let it dry. See what happens.

5. tell the hair dresser to cut more trickly to show ur hair thinner

Straitening your hair is a good idea but you'll have to take very good care of it after that by going for regualr treatments i.e. after 2 weeks to make it stronger. Now the problem is that I can't help you in finding a good stylist in your area coz I come from just another continent! You can as well visit this site (http://hairstyles.virtual-hairstyles.com... It has a virtual styling system in that you can upload your photo and you can virtually try out various hair styles before you can actually put them on! Good luck!

I don't know about doing it on virgin hair... that is usually the hardest hair to work with because it isn't broken in yet. And I think the chemically straightening idea is a great one! My mom is a cosmetologist and she recommends it to my friends when they ask! It is good because you won't have to mess with a straight iron every day! And on the days that you want it curly, shower and braid your hair wet, then sleep on it and in the morning you will have pretty natural looking curls! =)

So ya... go for it!~
