i just straightened my hair today. the instructions say not to wash your hair for 48 hours. would it really hurt to wash it today? my hair wasn't that curly to begin with, $85 perm gone wrong :(

It depends if you put in a relaxer or a perm. Perm is to straighten. Perm is to curl. Either or says not to wash yor hair for at least 24 hours. Washing it too soon will make the Ammonium Thioglycolate deactivate. Which is the main chemical that activates un-curling your hair.

If you wash your hair too soon you run the risk of reversing the effects of the staightening it takes the full 48 hours for all of the chemichal effects to take place. You can also cause you hair to be frizzy. So it is a lot safer too wait especially if you care anything about the way you look.

It would be better not to take a chance washing your hair. Everyones hair is different, and some people may be able to get away with it, but if you have doubts that the straightening job won't hold then you should wait the 48 hours, or at least 24.

If you straightened your hair, and you wash it, then you're just going to have to straighten it again. Once water hits it, it goes right back to being curly. Trust me, I have pretty curly hair and if it even gets to humid my hair kinks up. So if you want to keep the style for a few days and not have to completely straighten it every day(of course you'll touch it up every day but that only takes a few minutes) then don't wash your hair. Plus, it's always better not to wash your hair every day because you don't want to strip out all of those natural oils. Curly headed girls need as much natural oil as we can get in our hair to fight the frizz!

I really don't know why you would pay that much money on a perm. Are you serious. You need to know that you could have saved money. You should follow the directions you were given. Good Luck.

first off perm isnt tha way too goo it breaksz off ur hair!! baddd!!! u shudda done a press or flat iron. but umm dont wash ur hair i believe it cudd start fallin out or summ. and u dont wana doo to much it will damage it. permsz are very power ful and u dont no wat they will do too ur hair.
