Japenese Straightening, is it worth it? I have damaged hair?

ok here's the story. I have naturally curly dark brown hair which I dyed about a month ago to a very light color, honey like. I love my curls but after bleaching it doesn't look very cute or naturally curled anymore. I was thinking of trying japanese straightening but I'm afraid it may do more damage to my hair. However, it would help me out by saving me all the time and money of getting it straightened every SINGLE time I wash it. Any suggestions/opinions/horror stories??

You Decide

Does permanent straightening damage your hair quality and ouantity?

Interested in the bad effects of chemical straightening

Does permanent straightening damage your hair quality and ouantity?

Yes, it is very bad for your hair!

Does permanent straightening damage your hair quality and ouantity?

Not if you know how to apply it. Yes its chemical but if you leave it on as indicated and then rinse it out completely and wash your hair afterwards it does no harm at all.

If you're not sure which brands are Ok talk to a hair stylist who has experience with those products. A hairstylist who only treats straight hair types usually does not know this stuff.

Does permanent straightening damage your hair quality and ouantity?

no it doesnt anymore if u get it done from a professionalist.....i got one too so it didnt

Does permanent straightening damage your hair quality and ouantity?

yes!!!!, it REALLY damages ur hair, and can even make u bald or totally ruin ur hair if the hair stylist puts 2 much solution or doesnt do it right... i know because my aunt is a hair stylist and her friend did that! i want to do that but she wont let me!!

Which one of these is the best to use while straightening your hair with the SEDU flat iron?

1.Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide Smoother

2.CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray 8.5 oz.

3.Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

Which one of these is the best to use while straightening your hair with the SEDU flat iron?

Silk Drops by FX Special Effects!

What is the proper way to apply heat protector before straightening your hair?

Sometimes I feel like I'm putting on too much, and other times I feel like it's not enough. How much should I use and what's the right way to do it?

Also, what's the best brand of heat protector?

What is the proper way to apply heat protector before straightening your hair?

Whether you have the spray on or lotion(like I use), you need to put in in your hands, rub them together and then distribute in in you hair, starting from the ends, because that's what needs the most protection. However, make sure you don't put on too much, it will end up burning your hair and/or weighing it down with product. Then comb through your hair. Now you're ready to straighten!

I use Smooth N' Shine's Heat Protectant Lotion and Straighten Polish. I don't know who has the best product, but if I had to pick a favorite, you can't go wrong with Pantene products.

What is the proper way to apply heat protector before straightening your hair?

the best brand is Tresseme heat defence and u just spray it on with da clik spray dont worry bout puttin 2 much on, better than puttin 2 little on !! x

What is the proper way to apply heat protector before straightening your hair?

I think the best brand is Lee strafford poker straight, but thats a little expensive so treseme works well too.

I make sure my hair is properly brushed, section it then from a distance spray once on a small amount of hair, I then comb it and then straighten it. It makes my hair dead straight so I dont have to do it again.

What is the best product/most protective to use when straightening your hair?

You should try garnier-fructis. My friend has naturally curly hair and she uses this straightner stuff by them. I dont know whats its called, but i know you can buy it at Cvs and rite-aid. Garnier-fructis has alot of styling stuff.Im gonna have to get back to you with the name girl!

What is the best product/most protective to use when straightening your hair?

You should probably stop straightening it. My step daughter has beautiful naturally curly hair but she straightens hers every day and I can visibly see the damage done to her hair. Her mom cut it for her recently but it still looks dry and damaged. I have given her books on "how to love your curls" and my daughter has shown her how to style her curly hair, but she still insists on looking like all the rest of her teenage friends.

Let your hair be natural or at least only straighten it for special occasions when you want to look your best.

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

straightening hair

using cold water

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

anti-frizz smoothing cream by framesi. can be used on wet or dry hair.

anything with glycerine will frizz it and dry it out. just so you know. read the ingredients.

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

not really. have you ever noticed how ,sometimes, when you don't blow dry it gets kind of fuzzy like a halo? a good brush (boar bristle if your hair isn't too thick) will tame it some (anong with blow drying).

don't dry upside down. blow dry in the same direction of growth. (down the hair) Report It

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

along with blow drying. sorry.

besides, your hair needs protection from heat. otherwise it will fry the ends and you'll end up needing a cut in 1/2 the time as usual (at least 1/2 - probably more like 1/3 to 1/4 ). and you wil need at least an inch off each time. Report It

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

Use Iron-Style hair products

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

I use biosolk silk therapy. it makes my hair managable and frizz-free!!!

How can I protect my hair against humidity when I straighten it?

In all honesty, there's no real way to protect your hair 100% from humidity except for not straightening it in the first place.

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length & layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to b

Am I the only one who spends this much time straightening chin-length, thick hair?

I usually blow dry it in sections (or just blow dry it without using a round brush), and then flat iron it. I use Biosilk when I blow dry, and then again, when I flat iron.

Does anyone have any advice about how to straighten hair in less time? Or is 45 minutes a normal amount of time to spend?

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length %26amp; layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.

It only takes me about 25-30 mins. and my hair is halfway down my back! I simply blowdry it and part it into two sections down the middle of your scalp. Then, use your flat-iron and straighten it piece by piece on both the left and right side (one at a time, of course). Work your way from the front to the back. You'll finish much faster.

Also, get a flat-iron that has bigger plates. I have the Wigo Jade flat-iron. It was a little expensive (around $135 but way cheaper on eBay) but TOTALLY worth it! It's really great because it heats up quickly and the jade plates make my hair look totally smooth and shiny/silky. I hope that helped!

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length %26amp; layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.

take the time to get it right. aren't you worth it!

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length %26amp; layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.

I work a hair salon every now and then and when istaighten ppl hair it takes about 20 min but when my mom does is it takes about 10 so i guess it depends on how long you've been doing it.

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length %26amp; layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.

When you get it professionally done it usually doesn't take as long. Its a lot harder to dry it on ur own when you can't see what you are doing to the back of your hair, and if you are as picky as I am you want to do it right! I recommend that you buy the CHI profesional ceramic flat iron($120). All I do is let my hair air dry or dry it with a blow dryer (no styling, or brushing) and part my hair in sections and use the CHI iron. Trust me I have curly latin hair and my sister has permed hair,by the time you are done you will look like you have asian hair!!! But you must make sure that you do it in small sections and that you press it down evenly in each section. I have never been to a salon again after I purchased this iron!!!! I have chin length hair and it takes me 20 min to do it!!!

Straightening your own hair?

i think u can do within 9 minutes if u are an expert

Straightening your own hair?

its going to be impossible to get your hair completely straight in 9 minutes.

Straightening your own hair?

Use a flat iron.

Straightening your own hair?

Good luck!!! The best way I have found to straighten and not have to keep going over it with the straightner is to put hairspray all over your hair before straightening. It holds it much better and goes quicker!

Also, try to ties your harback while drying to help it drying straight!

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wett

My hair's pretty wavy, and I've been using Conair very recently, but for quite some time now. I've noticed that whenever I wet my hair after every 3 days or so it stands up even wavier and curlier. This isnt't my normal hair trait. Will it get back to being its normal wavy self if I don't use my straightener for a while?

And how can hair be so unusually wild like that considering the fact that hair straighteners actually burn the protein? Can the cells regenerate protein that profusely? If so, do striaghteners actually turn hair a lighter color?

Sorry, too many questions. Thanks for answering.

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wetting it?

Ok well, firstly your hair goes through constant changes, and cycles. It could be that as your getting older your hair is getting wavier naturally. Look at your genetics, if someone in your family has curly hair (preferably someone older than 50) then chances are yours will get a bit tighter and curlier the older you get.

For instance: I had dead straight hair all my life, and all my families hair (and I mean everyones) was curly. I was starting to think I was adopted or something, as this wasn't the only difference. But then when I was about 25 I cut it all off (boy short) and voila....it grew back wavy.

As for burning the protiens in your hair, YES it does burn your hair. as does any heated impliment you use. The protiens do regenerate that quick, it's like a self protection mechanism. The only way they don't is if it's severely chemically damaged. But it won't be turning your hair a lighter colour (except if it's very badly burned).

How do I know this......I was a hairdresser for 12yrs, so I have a little bit of experience. Hope it helped xxx

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wetting it?

dang girl. your question is so complicated. i have nothing to contribute. i just wanted to let you know you make me very happy to have straight hair. ;)

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wetting it?

using a straightener everyday can really damage your hair. if you want to change your hairs texture permanently, maybe you should consider chemical straightening. anyway, with most straightening products or processes, the results tend to disappear after a shampoo, or by getting really wet. your hair might go back to normal if you condition it very well very often. your hair might just be freaking out from over-processing. no, i don't think straightening burns proteins or affects hair color.

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wetting it?

your Luke you have stria-ht hair

How does hair (in general) get back to being all wavy and curly after straightening it and then wetting it?

i dont know

I'm looking for an effective shampoo for straightening my hair?

There is no hair care products out there that actually "staighten" your hair. The way I get my hair straight is by a straightening iron that I got from Woolworths %26amp; cost me $18 or %26amp;19. Hope this helps, and let me know if you need help with anything else.

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

I have naturally curly and I use some Sunsilk Anti-Poof cream and some Loreal Hot straight Straightening cream. I have virgin curly hair and I don't use relaxers. I blow dry my hair and flat iron it BUT after I flat iron it, my hair is straight but stiff. How can I make my hair straight but not stiff?

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

I've noticed that when i use heat protectors on my hair, it gets a slight stiff feeling to it, instead of a nice smooth feel. Some thing that i have noticed is if i use a pure ceramic straight iron (most are from the UK, and are pretty expensive) i dont need to use any type of protectant because of it not actually burning my hair, like a metal one would do. You could always try different protectants to see which one works better for you. I've always used garnier fructis.

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

maybe a touch of baby oil on the staightner as u are heating it up and after you have straighted your hair put a tad more in your hair but only a little so it isnt greezy. comb it softly through not with your fingers.

i have natually curly hair i have done this before and it has worked for me so it mite for you?

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

try using large hot rollers after you blow dry your hair somtimes the flat ior or iorns in gen. give you a stiff look. or you could use ur blow dryer with the nozzel attachment and a round bruch this take alot of time and alot of practice

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

If you're using a thick hair-dressing while straightening your hair, STOP! Use a really light sheen that won't weigh your hair down. I use olive oil, which gives me nice shine and my hair stays bouncy.

How do I get rid of my stiff-straightened hair?

Try blow drying it with a cold setting after, to separate some strands and give it more shine. Also a good shampoo that might help is Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight. I think that's actually what it's meant for - it helps the strands move well.

What are the pros and cons of premantly straightening your hair?

Pro - You will never have to straighten it again

Con - You can never have hair that isn't straight

What are the pros and cons of premantly straightening your hair?

pros: it lasts for about 6 mths, but then you have to get it done again.

cons: you need to keep straightening the roots as they grow in.

the price is high.

What are the pros and cons of premantly straightening your hair?

I have naturally straight hair, and sometimes I really like it, but other times I HATE it. Pros: I don't have to straighten it, and I don't Have to waste money on a straightener. Cons: It's really hard to keep it curled, and I can't just curl it like some people can just straighten their hair. Maybe it's just my hair though. It could work for you depending on the thickness of your hair.

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

chemical straightening is much better for your hair than it used to be...although I have never done it. What stopped me was not the damage, but rather what it would look like when curly hair starts growing in under the straight hair.....not so good.

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

I've had straight hair all my life and would die to have curly hair. Don't do it! I'm sure you look beautiful, just the way you are!

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

The few cases I've seen done did not turn out the way the owner's expected. Instead of straight and silky it turned out straight, frizzy and dull.

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

As with all hair treatments (coloring, styling and yes even flat irons) there will be some damage done to your hair, but if you are working with a trained professional they can help keep it under control. The cost depends on your stylist, or their studio and how much they charge, Be sure to do research and find the best person you feel most comfortable with doing the job. Also, depending on how curly your hair is, be prepared to sit around for up to 8 hours waiting for the process to take effect.

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

itll be okay

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

If your hair's already damaged then I wouldn't do it because it's going to make it even worse and it won't look healthy and what about regrowth? You can get shampoos from salons that relax your hair slightly and don't damage it, or why not just keep it curly? I used to be like you and had to straighten it all the time but now I'm paying the price because even though I've stopped it's really unhealthy and dry!

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

a bunch it depends on where you go

however i have a friend who did that %26lt;her and i BOTH have naturally curly hair%26gt; and she regretted it

it made her hair terribly dry and frizzy and even now years later it still doesn't curl right

i wouldn't do it

i have learned to LOVE my hair after years of hating it

but it makes a difference when you have the right hair products

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

DONT DO IT!! I had a bad perm about 2 years ago and got talked into chemically straightening it back. Horrible decision on my part without knowing all of my options. My hair was totally damaged and frizzed out afterwards. After letting it all grow out and getting regular haircuts my hair is starting to get back to normal.

The cost can run around $100 depending where you go. I went to Regis and supposively had a "master stylist" do it. What a joke!

Trust me, just keep using a flat iron. You may not have the patience for it now but when you can't do anything with it because it is so stripped and dry you will regret it. Plus, it smells horrible!!!

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

Depends on the condition of your hair and the texture of your hair. If your hair is strong and thick you won't have as much damage. Another big thing is the skill of your hairdresser. If he/she isn't careful it can be over processed. Check with your hairdresser for the cost. It varies for salons and your sylists experience. It depends on the length of your hair as well.

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

I recently got my hair thermally reconditioned (chemically straightened) and I did it because I hated having to wake up early to straighten it. The salon I went to called it Japanese hair straightening. When it first came out in early 2000 it was super expensive, but now people opt for natural hair, so it's much more affordable. The place I went to charged $250, but I think it depends on where you live and the salon you go to, but be VERY choosy where you do go. If they don't do a strand test for during a FREE consultation and don't ask about previous chemical treatments (perms, coloring, etc.) don't use them. My hair is actually EXTREMELY shiny, soft, and STRAIGHT now, I love it. I only have to blow dry my hair after my shower and put a little Biosilk in it and it looks like I spent hours with my straightener. I highly recommend it, but make sure you do your research on a good place. Good luck!

I have curly hair and want straight. How bad will chemically straightening at a salon damage my hair.?

It depends on the condition and type of hair that you have. There are many different kinds or relaxers. Your stylist will choose the best one for you. Your hair should be fine. Just follow what your stylist tells you. Use deep conditioners (professional).

What do you think about guys dying and straightening their hair?

why not? do it correctly and well. everyone seems to think it is a gay thing ... I think it is a cool thing...maybe gay guys care more about appearance and are more creative and expressive w/ their bodies... like they create ART with their bodies. some straight guys could pick up an idea or 2 from some gay guys...I know creative (straight guys) who do colour and relax their hair just for a different look..if it looks good why not!? women do it constantly! why shouldn't guys be free to express their ideas in this way also? gay or straight?

What do you think about guys dying and straightening their hair?

Guys with straightend hair is cute SOMETIMES and dying i think is a little too much but it also depends on the color. I really dont wanna c a guy with pink hair 閳?br>What do you think about guys dying and straightening their hair?

What are the pros and cons to chemicly straightening your hair??

Make sure you go to someone that is recommended by someone who has already had it done. A friend of mine had it done by someone that burnt her scalped and left her hair feeling like jelly.

Other than that it should be ok. THe worst part is is that it will keep growing out.

What are the pros and cons to chemicly straightening your hair??

It can lead to patterned baldness I heard.

What are the pros and cons to chemicly straightening your hair??

The only pro is that blowdrying takes less time.

I do not ever advise on straightening as it is a severely damaging process. Most major hair product manufacturers (Loreal, Wella etc) have products which are milder than straighteners but which only relax the curl. You are much better off with one of these.

If you do decide to have it done then make sure it is at a reputable salon.

What are the pros and cons to chemicly straightening your hair??

I have very naturally curly hair and have tried over the years to use chemical straighteners. Frankly, I have found no advantage at all. Either the straighteners do a lot of damage (even if done by a reputable salon) or don't last very long (about a week or so on my hair). While it takes more time, it is easier for me, and better for my hair, to straighten with a blow dryer and a good straightening iron.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

my friend, Steph, does it every other day and i don't want her hair to fall out....help? please and thank you.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

well, her hair won't fall out, but the main concern is over-drying the hair. and if it's overdried, it will become brittle and start breaking-sort of like split ends that travel the length of the hair. very hard to fix, but easy to prevent. make sure she uses conditioner-not just the shampoo/conditioner in 1. then apply a leave-in conditioner before drying the hair. and at least twice a week, use any kind of oil treatment system for the hair found in the beauty section at walmart or places like it.

also, try using a paddle brush to straighten the hair as you dry it, instead of straightening it, and see if it gets the same results.

and get regular haircuts to trim those split ends at the bottom. tell your friend good luck!

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

yes it damages the hair just like blowdrying it everyday

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

i did that to my hair, and its took 3 years to look healthy again, very very bad for the hair!

I wish I coul dhave straight hair... just not very kind to my hair though

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

it is definately bad..try using Loreal's anti-fizz mask or other straightening product like straightening balm and all. Be sure to choose one that doesn't require blowing or straightening with the heat and stuffs...just the applying kind...it works for me...

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

if she has to straighten her hair...make sure it is on a low heat setting. when she straightens it every other day it will make her have split ends. If she trims her ends it will be fine.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

It's not very good! I doubt her hair is going to fall out...but it can really lead to breakage!

I have had to cut down the blow drying/ flat ironing because my hair was becoming really brittle. When I heat style it now I try to use heat protection serums and shampoos so at least there's more protection from breakage. Just tell your friend to maybe switch to a different hair style that requires less straightening and such. Or have her wait a few more days in between straightening to wash out her hair, so that instead of doing it every other day...she does it maybe twice a week.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

why doesnt she straighten her hair for a long time once instead, i think theres that service at hairdresser

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

Yes it does but their are prevantative measures u can take ie:

Purchase a ceramic hair straightener, they are better for your hair and dont damage it as badly. Cermaic plates are less harsh on ur ends

Purchase hair serum, this is what i personally use. By applying it to the ends of your hair, when ur hair straightener would usually burn the ends of ur hair it burns the serum instead. It works like a protective barrier and makes ur hair softer. Look for a product called straightening balm or solution, readily avail. at a supermarket or hair dressers.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

Straightening hair everyday is really bad as it could lead to seroius damage to the hair. Strightening hair with a blow dryer or even with a straighteneras it would cause breakage of hair and eventually lead to thinning and loss of hair in heaps!!

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

Using straightening irons is terrible for the hair! Every time she uses it, she is boiling the moisture in her hair causing bubbling of the hair shaft that leads to breakage, splitting and white dots.

The more she uses it, the worse her hair will get. It will get weaker and weaker, break off more and more and start looking frazzled, uneven, dry and all around awful. In time, she will have to chop off all that wrecked, ravaged hair.

Products that claim to protect the hair don't. Nothing can keep the heat from damaging the hair. Nothing. Would she heat up her flattening iron and clamp it on her skin and run it down her arm? Of course not! But every time she uses it in her hair, she is burning her hair.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

It is bad for the hair but if you use a heat protecter like biosilk it helps alot

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

Don't do the Japanese straightener at the salons. I did it twice and $1000 later I have had to cut all of that straightened hair off and now my hair is all new. I just straighten it when I want to and if you use a good iron like a CHI and something like Biosilk Silk Therapy which is heat activated to protect hair your hair will be fine.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

You could tell your friend to buy a shmpoo or spray to add to the hair when wet or dry.Tis will help to rehydrate the hair. She could also get it professionly straightend this will last for a couple of months so she will not need to do it every day.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

it wont make the hair fall out, just badly dry it out.

If straightening one's hair every other day bad for the hair?

your hair will either fall out or you will get really really bad hair problems it will either become fried or just damage your hair really bad...

Can anyone recommend a good flat iron for straightening ethnic hair?

I recommend purchasing a thick one because you have more work to do if you get the small one. My little sister is mixed w/black and we straighten her hair with the white Revlon one, it works perfect. We once spent over $100 dollars on an Ionic one and it was so not worth it, I live by my Revlon!!!

solia or sedu. You can see 3000 real customer reviews and see the before and after pictures they post of themselves!

Can anyone recommend a good flat iron for straightening ethnic hair?

i recomend the CHI it works really good. i tried six different hair straightner and it use to take more than 30 mins to straighten my hair but with the CHI i can do it in 15 mins =]

Can anyone recommend a good flat iron for straightening ethnic hair?

I would go with a ghd, they sell them in salons, or have your hairstylist get one at a beauty supply store. The chi is good to, but I have recently heard they are seeming to break soon after the warranty. If you can't afford either of these, try a good 50 dollar iron...

GHD(good hair days), they are really expensive but they work wonders.

Can anyone recommend a good flat iron for straightening ethnic hair?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

yes! it happened to 2 people i know! So don't straighten it everyday. Put it up on some days or scruch it other days.

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

YES it can! Well, maybe not fall out but, it will break. It can become very brittle.

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

yea...with the straightening iron, youre practically burning it off...

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

ALWAYS GIRL! that is why u need to oil your hair periodically and oil it b4 u st8en it! always!!

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

its not exactly falling because we shedd at least 50-100 strands a day. but to get to your question.. your hair is just breaking b/c its dry and your flat ironing it. try putting some hair product in your hair beofre straightening it. like..."bed head-after party" or some kind of hair serum.. hope i helped out a little

Can your hair fall if its dry fromm straightening it?

If you mean "fall out" from straightening then yes! Take it from someone who knows. If your straighten your hair too often it pulls the moisture and oil out of your hair and burns the entire hair shaft which in turn causes it to break off in different areas...hence split ends and excessive breakage.

If you can please lay off the iron as much as possible. I have been through hair breakage. Now that I rarely use the flat iron my hair has grown and thickened up tremendously! Take it from a sistah who knows! Good luck!

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

like what kinda cream or product to put on it before/after ?

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

There is a product made by AlfaParf called Illuminating Serum Cristalli Liquid. It's a bit pricey ($28) but one bottle lasts for at least 3 months. This is one of the best products I have ever used on my hair. You can put it on while your hair is wet, or when it is dry before straightening. It looks like an oil, but it does not ever make your hair oily or weigh it down. It makes your hair incredibly manageable, smooth and shiny. I also will recommend the best conditioner to use, Crema conditioner by Terax. Also a little pricey ($22) but this is the best conditioner in the world. It was voted the #1 Overall Conditioner by HAIR magazine. Both are awesome products, I use both on my hair, and my hair is in the best health it has ever been in - and I wash and CHI iron my hair EVERY day. Hope this helps you, and I hope you can find these products, they are well worth a little extra money.

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

loreal hair straightner is best, after using this, go for loreal conditioner

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

I suggest 'LOREAL hot straight'. Put it just before the procedure. It will protect your hair from damage and give a beautiful shine effect.

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

Victoria's secret so sexy straightener works great

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

I would actually suggest a "sunsilk" cream. I dont know what it is called- but its yellow. If you really want straight hair-then you should get a chi straightener...they might be pricey but the are reliable, fast, and are worth the price!

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

I really love Crazy Straight from Beverly Hills. I never have any fly aways when i use it. I have heard that the straightening line from Herbal essences is actually really good too but i have not tried it.

Whats the best product to use while straightening your hair ?

i have this herbal essence flat out finished spray that i spritz all over when im done to seal in the look, and also while im doing it (if its for a special event) i use the redken fabricate spray (which like all redken products is pretty pricey)

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do i

and it looks perfect, shiny and straight. which is exactly what i want.

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do it...?

You can go to a hair salon and have your hair professionally 'relaxed'. It is a chemical treatment that is placed in your hair (looks like conditioner but it is an extrememly harsh chemical). You rinse it out, shampoo and condition as normal then dry your hair and thats it. Your hair is straightened.

It lasts about 6-8 weeks depending on hair texture. The obly problem is, it is irreversable. Your hair will never return to the original texture unless you grow it out.

I've never liked it but for some people, that's what they want. I find that the chemicals are too harsh, my hair is too flat, and curls don't last as long as they should.

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do it...?

I have a friend who has really curly hair and it is professionally straightened. It cost's $500!

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do it...?

nothing. I have dead straight hair. I can barely do anything with it. When i put it in a pony tail, it just slips out. it is incredibly flat, too.

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do it...?

You don't have to spend a ton of time doing it in the morning and it stays straight! The only thing that sucks is that it's harder for curls to stay in your hair when you want to curl it

What are some good things about permanently straightening your hair. ive seen all of my friends do it...?

I've straighten my hair and i've loved, it is so much easier to blow dry it. It comes out so much better looking than when you don't have it permanently straight. Though it is something you do moderatly like every 6 months or every year otherwise you'll burn your hair or it'll brake.

It is definitly so much better looking, smoother, less frizzy.

Hopes this help, Good Luck !

What is the difference between rebonding and straightening of hair?

Will it affect ones health ?

What is the difference between rebonding and straightening of hair?

Rebonding is also known as 'hair treatment'..it actually makes ur hair much healthier..long,straight,heavy and shinier..no matter how u style it up, after one wash it all goes back to straight and long..it involves using creams and stuff and takes much longer so u'll have to make an appointment 1st.. wherelse straigthening is..well..juz straightening..they use a flat iron to 'iron' ur hair..and u have to take care not to tie it too tight etc cuz it cant go back straight unlike rebonding..

What is the difference between rebonding and straightening of hair?

rebonding is the type of straightening that will make your hair stay super straight for months.. you can still tie your hair as usual without worrying that it will curl back because it will still be straight after washing your hair.. but straightening of hair isnt as good as rebonding because it does not last as long..

Permanantly straighten hair at home.....?

is there a way to permanantly straighten hair at home? i dont want to keep straightening my hair after every shower..(i have to so dont tell me to stop) so is there a way?

Permanantly straighten hair at home.....?

not permanently.

I understand I have frizzy curly hair.

my sister got hers chemically straightened at the hairdressers but was very expensive and it's need retouching every few months.

I just bought a GHD and it's the best!

Permanantly straighten hair at home.....?

My friend used to buy home perms, and comb them through, but then not put the curlers in, and let it sit for the amount of time on the box. It looked straight. But it eventually got to looking overprocessed.

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

it can make your hair fall out

it can cause scalp burns

it can severely dry your hair

it can make your hair brittle and break off

once you get it once, you have to keep getting it or your hair will look odd when it grows out.

if you do get it chemically straightened, exercise caution by choosing a reputable stylist. good luck :)

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

It changes the cell structure of your hair.

Makes it brittle

Drys it out

Can make it break off

Can make it fall out

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

i would like to know the same as i want to do it aswell.better than doing it everytime when you want to.i dont fear my hair falling cause i've got loads and thick ones.it depends on your hair type and texture

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

That would depend on the brand of chemical straightner being used. I believe the hair has to be in

excellent condtion. A licensed professional perfoming the service as well. Even one that is certified with that particular system. Peace of mind speaks for itself

You may also have the stylist try a curl reducer instead.

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

I have been getting my hair straightened chemically since 2004. My hair is lovely and I feel blessed whenever I think of my hair now. My hair naturally was on the wavy side and easily became frizzy but now it is straight and lovely all the time. I have my hair the longest it has ever been.

I do lose lot of hair but my head is full of hair so it only helps making it lesser volume.

I use dove shampoo and then conditioner and leave in conditioner and sometimes loreal liss control [another leave in conditioner].

In my opinion chemical straightening of hair is next best thing to be invented after internet. It has made me really happy :D

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

Alot of stylists are not qualified to be performing chemical straightening. It is an expensive process and if it were me, I would want to know that where I was going to get it done, that the person performing the straightening had had proper training. If you have coloured your hair recently, or you have naturally dry, brittle hair - any stylist who knows anything about hair will turn you away. Your hair needs to be in perfect health in order to get this done without your hair breaking off mid shaft. If you're hair is healthy, and you are set on getting it done, I would strongly recommend doing a protein treatment for about a week prior to the service. You want to make sure you build the strength of the hair up so that it can withstand the chemicals. Try Redken Extreme Rescue Treatment.

Tell me all the reasons why chemically straightening your hair is bad?

It looks good the first few days, then you have to end up strightening it more then you would usually have to.

What products/flat irons are best for straightening my hair?

Try a CHI flat iron. You can purchase one at Trade Secret for about $120. If you are on more of a cheaper budget, go to Sally Beauty Supply and get a 1 inch flat iron. Try Helen of Troy Ceramic (Yellow box), Jilbere Titanium Tools 1 inch flat iron, or a Jilbere Tourmaline Flat iron. Always use either a heat protection spray or a shine serum before using heat. This will not only protect the hair, but will also cut down on frizz, flyawys, and keep the hair smoother and silkier and shinier. Some good ones to try are Beyond The Zone Smooth shot (Purple bottle with yellow top) or BioShine Silk Therapy-these are the serums. Try Beyond the Zone Heat protection spray in the orange bottle. You can get all this stuff at Sally's. Good luck!!!

What products/flat irons are best for straightening my hair?

Ceramic irons are the best for straightening hair. They don't dry it out like the others because the ceramic absorbs moisture instead of frying it like the other ones do. They do cost more though, but it's worth it if you're worried about your hair. My friend has hair so curly it goes down past her shoulders when straighted, but is a helmet hairdo that's only 2 inches or so from her head after she washes it. She straightens her hair every morning, which caused massive damage because she was pretty much frying it.

What products/flat irons are best for straightening my hair?

i use a regular chi iron with 1" plates and alterna straightening balm for straight styles and alterna texturizing glaze for fun flipped out or under or curled styles. with that iron you can do anything for example they make the best spiral curls. good luck be creative!! ps alterna is the best and always use styling products before you iron

What products/flat irons are best for straightening my hair?

if your going to go to sallys then the only thing there worth it is gold n hot!

What products/flat irons are best for straightening my hair?

Do not waste your money on a cheap flat iron. The only one worth buying is a Chi. That thing would straighten anything. You should also buy the complete line of Matrix Sleek Systems. It smells great and leaves your hair silky shiny. Check for the Chi on ebay, sometimes they have a great deal. Good Luck

Could someone please tell me how chemicaly straightening your hair affects it?

Does it dry it out or stop it from getting it longer? Or affect it badly in any way?

Could someone please tell me how chemicaly straightening your hair affects it?

If you decide to straighten your hair, both the chemical and day to day versions have positive and minus considerations. The purpose of this article is not to discuss the pros and cons of chemical versus non chemical straightening. The goal of this article is to present as much information as possible on the chemical straightening process. This article is neither for nor against straightening. It only presents the facts.

The most common reason that people decide to have their hair straightened is to eliminate curls. Sometimes this process will be used also to soften or eliminate wavy hair. Chemical hair straightening, also known as relaxing, involves a process where the basic structure of overly curly or wavy hair is changed into a straight form.

Both relaxing and permanent waving utilize fairly strong chemicals that are applied directly to the to the hair shaft. However, their objectives are reversed. While a perm is designed to add curls or waves, a relaxing treatment is designed to remove them.

Consult A Professional

Chemical hair straightening is not a difficult procedure, but it does require a thorough technical knowledge of the relaxing process. Therefore it should always be performed by a hair care professional with a track record of success with straightening. (Photo from Bob Steele Salon in Atlanta, Georgia Style by Ming Matthews - Photography by Tom Carson - all rights reserved).

It is best to have the relaxing process performed by a professional so that they can perform a strand test to determine the recommended strength of the relaxer that should be used. The stylist will also need to evaluate current hair texture, porosity, elasticity and the presence or absence of any hair damage.

Could someone please tell me how chemicaly straightening your hair affects it?

For some people it makes their hair dry and brittle. It gets really weak from the chemicals and can make it come really frizzy and damaged. Also it can make your hair grow at a slower rate which is the reason why if you do chemically straighten your hair you should do the best one which is the Japenese Straightening System and do deep conditioning once a week.

Could someone please tell me how chemicaly straightening your hair affects it?

Chemicaly straightening your hair ( other known as perm straighten or getting your hair relaxed) damdges the hair. Every product you use damdges your hair. If you chemicaly straigten your hair and then your hair starts to grow back and you decide not to get is chemcaly straightened again a bit of hair might fall out. The hair that's growing isnt protected so if you get your hair chemicaly straightened and decide to grow it back out make sur you trim the edges very often. Hope this helps =)

Could someone please tell me how chemicaly straightening your hair affects it?

Yes,chemically straightening your hair effects it.It could possibly irritate your scalp and cause some signs of hair loss.I suggest you do not "perm" your hair unless there is something extremely wrong with your hair.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

is this normal and how do i get the mark to go away...

i don wanna have a scar

please help

thank you

xao:)

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

u should be keeping it away from your face, and if it is a steam one, make sure the steam releases away from your head.

maybe put some ice in a towel on it

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

You will be fine...I know the feeling. Put some Neosporine cream on it and you should be good to go.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

First get a aloe plant or gel and put it on the spot that you need to heal then when it starts to heal scabs put some coco butter on it to help with the scaring.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

CUT SOME BANGS.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

Put some ice in a hanky and put it on the burn area. It takes the heat out the burn, and numbs it a bit.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

tea tree oil is wonderful for burns. When applied directly after a burn there is less pain and almost no scarring even on deep burns. If you don't have any tea tree oil on hand get some and keep it in your bathroom. Once you use it you will always want to have some handy for times like this. Good luck !

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

take more time before you go out. So, you will have much more time to style your hair. As long as you take time, it's meant you'll be looked perfect.

SO, your wont burnt your forehead cause the time is up

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

The skin conditioning Oil from Arbonne. This will keep it from scarring and aid in healing plus it will make your face feel great. You can order it at my website and if you live in the states a good chance you can get it in 3 days or you may find a rep near you that may have some on hand with it being winter this is a popular item. If I can help in any way I would happy to I am sorry that happened to you.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

It happens to the best of us. If you put antibiotic ointment on it about two times a day it's less likely to scar. However, it'll take about 3-4 days, at least, for it to heal up enough to not show. If your conscience about it showing you can either wear your hair kind of over it, or try and cover it up with makeup(although if it's scabbed makeup's likely to look caked) or get some of those clear band aids and try putting that on it.

I burnt my neck once w/a curling iron and it didn't leave a scar. Although I got teased horribly by all my friends cause they kept saying it was a hickey lol.

And for future reference, slow down with your straightener when you're doing hair close to your face. It's HOT LOL

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

put neosporin and aloe on it and ice it if this just happened. go to the store in like 3 days if it leaves a scar and but scar removal and you should be good to go. And in the meanwhile don't put any makeup on it or it will clog it up and it will not heal as well.

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

use coco butter

I burnt my forehead when i was straightening my hair...what should i do?

let it partially heal so its not tender then rub vitamin e oil on it every day

How to straighten hair to own self?

I always thought straightening my own hair was hard. And I got a straightener. But I don't know how to straighten it to myself without damaging or messing up badly.

How can I straighten my hair well?

How to straighten hair to own self?

the first thing you have to do is buy a good, professional flat iron. if you have anything you got from a wal mart-type store or a grocery/drugstrore throw it away. cheap flat irons are the only ones that will ruin your hair. here are some suggestions:

1st: hai convertable flat iron

2nd: paul mitchell smoothing iron

3rd: chi

all of these can be easily found on ebay for 50-80 bucks on average.

to flat iron hair:

after shampooing and conditioning apply a normal amount of finishing product to towel dried hair.

. (PROFESSIONAL HAIR CARE PRODUCTS ONLY)

*try aveda confixor or paul mitchell supper skinny serum.

then blow dry hair straight with a medium tension flat brush. once hair is 100% dry, comb small sections of hair at a time then follow it with your flat iron 2 or 3 times per section (follow with comb each time). sections should be about the size of the plates of the flat iron. start at the bottom of your head and work your way up.

that's it. the most important thing to remember is if you want good results you have to use professional tools and hair care products. never buy ANY hair color or ANY hair products from drugstores or grocery stores.

*note: ALL professional hair products sold at grocery stores and drugstores are either expired or counterfeit. these stores have obtained these products illegally. professional products like aveda and paul mitchell are only sold to professional salons and hair care retailers.

How to straighten hair to own self?

straighten it in small layers. it makes it look really good. i am a pro at it. lol

How to straighten hair to own self?

Why would you want to straighten curly hair, it is beautiful.

How to straighten hair to own self?

pull back all your hair but a little bit.. and straighten that.. then let down some more hair and straighten that.. and so on....

use a heat protection spray too!

How to straighten hair to own self?

1. find a good styling heat-protecter product. (i recommend Straight Sexy Hair products)

2. Get a food quality straightenor (i have a CHI)

3. Seperate you hair into sections. i part it in half(like pigtails)

4. Start with one side, depending on how long/thick you hair is, continue to part it into different sections and straighten each section. (i start from the bottom of my head and work my way to the top.

5. Save straightening the front of your hair/your bangs till the verry end, when the rest of your hair is already straight.

6. When your done, spray your hair with a shine spray and brush. ( i recommend Got2Be Shine Spray)

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

Okay all you gotta do is write a quick (but detailed) mini-story that is about why you decided to straighten your hair, did you straighten it at a salon or at home, what the results were like, what did other people think, and do you like your old hair or your straightened hair better. I'm asking because I'm thinking of straightening my hair, but I'm not sure since I think the results might be bad. The best story earns a quick 10 points!!

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

hey,

my names sam and im 13. I have in between EVERYTHING hair. Like for example, I have in between brown and blonde (which everyone "envies" but i hate) and I have in between curly and straight. Whenever I go to the salon, my stylist flat irons it, which is just a fancy way of saying, straightens it. It takes about 20 minutes, but it is totally worth it. My hair looks like the girls do on commercials =] It was SO silky smooth. All of my friends, family, EVERYONE loved it.

I would totally recommend it

good luck babe=]

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

I started straighening my hair at home when a lot of people at school did and my hair was getting out of control. I am very happy with the results, my hair is now much sleeker and shinier, and everyone likes how i look now.

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

i straightened my hair everyday for 6 months.. it looked fine for the first 4 months but then my hair started getting damaged and now i just let it curl because my curls aren't frizzy, and i guess they dont look as ugly as i thought they looked before

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

I have long curly hair, I used to try everything to get it straight...then one day someone told me about the "Chi." I went to a salon and asked them to straighten it, i think it cost $30 b/c my hair was long and took nearly an hour. I couldn't believe it! My hair was STRAIGHT and sooo long and silky....like straight like all those other girls with naturally straight straight hair. My friends and family members freaked out when they saw me, many didn't even recognize me. I bought a 2" chi on ebay immediately and I straighten my hair at home from time to time now. I still like my curly hair, but it's fun to change it up. I feel like a different person when my hair is straight! I can do a decent job myself, but they definitely do a better job at the salon.... Get a Chi, you will love it...don't even bother with the cheap crappy other straighteners...

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

I have once and it didn't look good on me. My friend does it like every day because when she wakes up in the morning her hair is all puffy. It's not that healthy for your hair to be straight ironed because it causes split ends. Oh yea my friends hair was really straight and I don't know why she straight irons it.

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

I was sick of going to school everyday with my hair feeling thick and wavy. I wanted my hair to be sleek and straight. So I purchased my first flat iron. The next day I took it out of the box and started to straighten my hair. I pinned up sections I wasn't working on and straightened my hair very thoroughly. The results were AMAZING. My head felt 5 pounds lighter. My hair felt wonderful and it looked so straight. I went to school and tons of people noticed and told me how much better it looked. Needless to say, I'm addicted to straightening my hair now. I love my hair so much more now than I ever did before. I feel so much better!

I think you should try it, it's worth it if you want your hair to be sleek and straight!

閳?br>If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

well when i was younger my hair was always perfectly straight. i always got complimented on my hair. then as i got older it got a little more wavy. and soon i realized i didn't get that many compliments anymore. so i decided to start straightening my hair. the reaction was amazing. people started loving my hair again. the results were great. my hair was soft and smooth and well, straight! i am so glad i decided to straighten my hair. it looks a ton better!

Best of Luck!

I've Straigened My Hair For Ages.

I Do It At Home But Sometimes In A Salon.

I Decided To Because I Have Very Thick Wavy/Curly Hair And I Dont Like It. My Hair Looks Okay When Its Straight.

Go For It. Try It On A Night And See What You Think. If You Like It Do It More Often. If It Looks bad Then Atleast you tried.

I always straighten my hair otherwise I look like a 7 year old little girl. I guess you can say that it is done at home, but my friend who is a beautician does my hair for me. Its super curley so it takes about 45mins to blow dry, then she puts in oil, then she uses the flat iron. I do this about once a week. You could go longer, but then the longer you keep it straight the less time that your hair is going to be clean so I suggest once a week. If you have really curly hair like I do when it gets straightned I usually have a really nice layered look. I love it. It very rare close to never that I wear my hair curley anymore. You should definitely have your hair done. You will love it!

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

Well my hair is realllly curly and im like im tried of like my hair and stuff so i decided to straighten my own hair i wasnt by a mirror or anything so i started to do it and my hair is realllly poofy! so i finished and like i was horrified when i saw my hair i was like ahhh.. turns out i have to do another step before straightening it! omg i wont try that again so i had to take another shower so i could keep it curly again. Straightening hair isn't bad you just have to do it the right way

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

i straightened my hair because.... my hair sucks! it's quite thick and wavy but it poofs out when i dry it and goes flat when i leave it to air dry so i though AHA! i will curl it, no such luck it went absolutley ridiculously big and bushy so the next time i went to the hair dressers i got my hair straightened and it looked awesome not too big not too flat but just perfect so i went and made damn sure my next birthday present was a pair of GHDs lol

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

I straighten my hair everyday, because of my hairstyle, and because I have really thick hair that gets worse in the summer when it is humid. If I don't straighten it then it curls up by itself. I have to spray it first with straightening spray then I straighten it with a flat iron. It takes me about 20 minutes, and I love my hair straight. I hate my hair otherwise.

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

okay... so i have frizzy, curly hair and my BFF straightens her hair EVERY day. so one day she came ovr and she's like, "I have to go straighten my hair!" so i went and straighened mine too. NOW I LOOK LIKE EMILY OSMENT!! My hair is, silky, straight, and you better BET I straighten my hair EVERY DAY!!! LOL

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

My hair is blonde and really curly...but not frizzy...like perfect ringlets, i love it! But a couple of years ago (before knew how to take care of my curls) my hairs was like this poofy, semi curly, semi wavy mess. So i bought a flat iron and straightened my hair everyday. I looked great, it was long and smooth and everyone loved it. But after about four months of that my hair started to get really fried (which means frizzy and gross due to do much heat) and i had to get five inches cut off to fix it. Now I know how to take care of my curls so i wear my hair curly most of the time, I still straighten it, just not as much, cuz i don't want that to happen again.

Don't be afraid of straightening your hair, go for it! Just make sure of these things...

1) have a good flat iron, not the cheap kinds, and not wet2straight...it sounds good in the package...but it's not good for your hair

2) wait untill your hair is COMPLETELY dry before straightening it so it doesn't damage your hair

3) brush you hair completely through beore you straighten it, otherwise you get these gross knot things at the ends

4) use a heat protective spray so it doesnt damage your hair

5) straighten your hair COMPLETELY...if you slack off it won't look good...

If you do all these things and your hair still doesn't look good...just get it wet and it will go back to normal and you never have to do it again.

hmm, well i started straightening my hair because i'd wake up in the morning for school, wash my hair then brush it and not have enough time to blowdry/straighten .. it would be puffy because my hair is wavy .. so i decided to purchase a straightening iron and i liked how it looked ! The thing is, i got too addiced %26amp; my hair was frying at the ends! Of course this is if you're an everyday straightener .. just use protective heat spray before (found at salons or local stores) %26amp; use ceramic plates, though i've heard the mix of ceramic/titanium are better for hair which i believe are in ghd's .. a one time use will not damage your hair so don't worry ! Just make sure your hair is dry (:

Hey, im sam and im 13 years old. I decided to straighten my hair last year because my hair is naturally curly. I used to only wear it in a half ponytail and a ponytail because it was so curly i couldnt wear it down. That straightener saved my life. I think you'll like it. I first straightened my hair at my house, but my mom helped me the first couple times, then i got a hang of it and did it myself. The results were awesome! No more annoying curls in my face!!! Straight all over! Other people, like friends and family started commenting me as soon as they saw me. I definitely love my straightened hair more than my old curly hair. Its still curly after i shower but i just straighten it right away, haha!

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

hello,

we'll, i started straightening my hair everyday when i was in 6th grade. my sister got me into it. when she straightens her hair, it looks sleek, shiny, and beautiful. you can tell she straightens it now-a-days cuz when almost everybody at your school straightens it, you can tell whats "real straight" and "fake straight", kinda like purses.

Yes, my hair is naturally, exceptionally straight but since it hangs longer than my shoulder, it gets bent towards the middle, then my ends flip out every which way.

The results you will get will be amazing. You'll look better than you do now. (And the people that say they're hair was all big after they straightened it, it wasn't the straightener. When that happens, they probably didn't straighten all the way through the bottom layer. So remember that.) Guys will notice, whatever age you are at.

So I say go for it! It works for, like, 98% of everybody else!

Good Luck,

-primo

My hair was naturally strait when I was younger, but ever since I got older my hair thickened and obviously got longer... I finally gave in a straitened it when I noticed my hair looked like a puffball [this was several years ago] and ever since I have had raving results. Also, straitening hair, as long as you use good products and a good straightener, gives it amazing shine and a silky feeling.

If you have ever straightened your hair and you are desperate for 10 points???? THEN CLICK HERE!!?

Ok well I have pretty straight hair to begin with but then I decided to get a straightener to be able to control and kind of style my hair a little more. I love my hair straightened and it just looks a lot better. I would suggest a straightener to achieve a great look.. the only thing is don't go cheap on one, I did that and my hair would never be fully straightened. So don't be afraid to splurge when it comes to buying one.

What is the best way to straightening your hair without frying it?

Don't straighten hair whle wet, even if it is a wet 2 dry hair straightener, straightening hair while wet can fry up your hair.

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks to avoid damage

Buy a hot oil treatment to restore moisture and shine to your hair.

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

There isn't a way. Everything available creates damage. You can straighten it with thermal reconditioning, chemical straighteners, or straightening irons but all these leave behind damage. Have you tried to embrace your curly side?

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

A hair straightener or blow dry your hair...permanently straightening lasts 6 months your hair will be dryier than before but it does look good up to you.

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

You can use a no lye formula of hair straightening process... it usually keeps hair from breaking but you have to REALLY keep an eye on the time so you don't damage your hair. There's also the newer Japanese hair straightening process with the ceramic irons, etc- but it's very expensive and takes like 5 hours. And you have to find someone licensed to do it. I've straightened my hair for years (until recently- decided it was easier to just "be me") but I never had any damage unless I was careless or had dyed it RIGHT AFTER straightening. That will cause serious chemical burns or hair breakage at about 2 inches from the scalp. If you have really unruly hair, use a black hair care product like "Dark and Lovely"- it always seems to me that those products go out of their way to make sure they don't damage hair. You can get these products at ANY Sally's or other beauty supply store.

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

If you use special sprays such a pro-tene and other best sellers, and spray it on your hair during straightening, then it will allow your hair to be glossy, shiny and best of all straight all day, and your hair will hardly be damaged.

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

dont ever go for electronic straitners

they damage ur hair

if u hav curely hair then its gud bcoz u can b wid th tred

whenever u want u can hav curely n whenever u want u can go for strait wid the help of blow dryers

dont do permanent straightning

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

If you really want to chemically straighten your hair find someone who uses the Chi straightening system. I recommend straightening it yourself with a Chi flat iron, it is the best on the market and won't boil your hair like the other ones. It is best to apply Chi silk infusion to wet hair and blow dry straight, then use Matrix sleek spray on each layer before using the flat iron for humidity resistant and frizz free styling without any product build up.

What are the ways available for straightening your hair without damage?

invest in a ceramic straightener, it is a bit on the expensive side, however it causes the least damage to your hair, and also makes it looks beautiful and healthy. My sister has one, and her hair looks amazing.

What are the best products for straightening coarse hair?

hair relax with a blend of hot oil maybe. but when your at home never ever blow dry your hair. it will only worsen your hair damage. you can also add conditioner after you added your shampoo. stay it for at least 3 minutes and then rinse. after you take a bath and your hair is dry put some leave-on.

What are the best products for straightening coarse hair?

herbal essences dangerously straight, aveda hang straight, tresseme

What are the best products for straightening coarse hair?

A relaxer. I don't know your nationality, bu tI use "Motions Relaxer".

What are the best products for straightening coarse hair?

i used to have thick and wavy hair before i got myself some hair treatments. a once a year hair relax or rebond treatment would do wonder. hair relax should be done with hair spa, hair wax, or cellophane treatment to maximize effects.

use conditioner more often that shampoo. i use shampoo every other day, and conditioner everyday. use those straightening conditioners (if you're from the phils, creamsilk pink is good enough).

don't blow dry your hair often; take some time out to dry your hair using electric fan.

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Anything I should use/know? (When should I straighten it, how, good straighteners, etc.)

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

wait at least a couple hours after showering to straighten it. Preferably over night. A good straitener is the revlong 1 inch professional series, but in general just make sure to get a ceramic one. Use dove's protection line to protect your hair from heat damage, it works wonders and will prevent your hair from splitting at the ends. Good luck!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Try to remember to always use heat protectant gel or cream or spray etc. It prevents bad frizzy ends or spilt ends.

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Whatever you do do not get one at target or walmart etc. Try sally hanson, ulta, or even those places in the mall where they straighten your hair for free to show you how good it works. DON'T GET A CHI! Don't put too much product in your hair when you straghten.

GOOD LUCK!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

I have a remington wet to straight straightener iron. It works very good on all hair types. It takes a while to straighten your own hair. Break it up into sections, at least four and straighten it in layers so you don't miss any parts. Try that flat iron though or a golden hot iron. Those work really good too.

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

use leave in condishiner be4

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

if you decide to get a perm, get a kiddie perm because they are less harmful on the haed andstick 2 one perm if u can. also keep your head greased or not dry. if you wash your hair then wrap it and set under the dryer. i use optimum thats not a kiddie perm but i been using it 4 a while so i dont want to switch over. if you straight comb it go to a dominican salon.

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

I also have thick hair buts its really curly and I straighten it. I just recommend that you get a Chi straightener. They are kinda expensive at 120 bucks but totally worth it. It straightens your hair faster and damages it less. I also recommend that you don't straighten it every day just straighten it and don't wash it for 2 or 3 days or more if your hair doesn't get oily fast. Hope that helped!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

my hair is thick and wavey 2

1st i use spray stuff so my hair doesn't burn then i use the remigton wet 2 straight straightner then i put in hair gel so my hair doesn't frizz

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

well i have very curly hair and i have a CHI straightener. they run for about $135. yes i kno this might sound a bit pricey but omg let me tell u when use this thing my hair is soft and shiny and it stays straight!!! and it dosn't take long at all to straighten it either. this thing is a miracle! its worth the price. plus if u get the leave in stuff that goes with it it helps a lot. and any shampoo and conditioner works but i like Aussie and the loreal shampoo and conditioner in the orange or pink bottles.

ps when u shampoo ur hair and stuff the hole time ur in the shower after u shampoo it leave the conditioner in the whole time, this will make it so much softer...happy straightening!!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

i'm the same way. i use CHI hair straighteners and they work really well. you should straighten it every few days(but make sure you use a protective spray first). and put your hair up but leave a little part down, straighten that part, let more hair down, straighten it, etc. until you're all done. so hope this helped閳俱儮娅忛埦?br>I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Okay, first of all, straighteners are the best way 4 grls w/ wavy/curly hair, to have this smooth, sleek, style. I have very curly hair and am very pleased w/ my conair max. heat (the really big one, lol) straightener, only 20$ at target. K, when your hair is damp, use V05 Make It Straight Gel, and i am prepared to swear, that stuff does help straighten your hair (it won't b straight, but you'll c improvement.) When your hair is totally dry, put it up w/ clips and take a two inch section of hair and run the iron down,(get close to scalp as possible.) whenever you finish a section, undo the clips, and continue till finished, finish w/ an anti frizz spray, and your good. REMEMBER-- to avoid damage keep the setting on low, and use "heat activated" creams or gels, such as V05, good luck!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

Well I have very thick wavy hair and for Christmas my mom got me a Paul Mitchell Straightener. And let me tell you, that thing works wonders! It takes me about ten minutes to straighten it. These straighteners go for about 120$ but its worth it. Also, I use Bed Head Control Freak Frizz control and Straightener stuff. What you do: Work throughly through damp hair and rinse it out. Then you use the other gel when your hair is damp. Then you Air dry and Style it however you want it. Here are some other products that work!

I have thick wavy hair and I want to start straightening it.?

straight hair is overrated. but, in the event you still want to acheve this look, use that silver electrical tape and promptly tape your wet hair in place. most people use pink tape for this, but from my own experience, the silver electrical tape works best. whatever you do, do not use superglue for this. i tried it and everything was a mess. i lost all feeling in my forehead for weeks and i no longer have eyebrows.
