Hi! Okay don't start looking for a hair straightener just yet. First thing i suggest that you got to the nearest hair salon and ask them to razor thin your hair or just thinn it. This will take some of the bulk away and make your hair more manageable. Now for the straighteners i suggest that you get a True Ceramic Ionic Pro straightener. I have one and i use it in my salon all the time.

You have to buy a ceramic iron. Go to a salon and see if you can purchase one there. What you need is a professional iron not the ones that you find at Walgreens. Or you can try www.sephora.com
Also never try to straighten wet hair. Your hair must be dry. Good luck. I am sure you will have straight beautiful hair soon.

Most irons have ceramic plates, so don't worry too much about that; go for one with a higher than average max temperature. Watch out for the expensive brands, some of them can get REAL hot

I've also got super thick hair and i've tried so many straighteners but either i have to go over the same piece over an over or it takes ages because i have to separate the hair into tiny sections to get it to straighten. 1st apply a heat protection spray and Paul Mitchell super skinny serum. That helps a lot. Then i always rely on GHD's. They seem to be the only ones that can tackle my hair! although they are relatively expensive....
