Anyone whose had their hair chemically straightened?

I am thinking about getting my hair straightened (it's wavy and I just don't have the time to straighten it every day anymore!) Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has had this done before and had a couple of questions if you have. First, were you satisfied with the results? Second, what did you pay to have it done? And third, how was your hair while it was growing out?

I do Japanese perms in my salon...I charge $200 per hour. It comes out fabulous...

retouches need to be done about every 6 mos. to a year depending on how fast your hair grows..

If you have good hair it will come out good if your hair is compromised, you should not have it done...You should invest is some really good treatments to do at home to maintain moisture and protein balance.

I wouldn't recommend it because My friend didnt like the curls in her hair so she got it done and all her hair on her head fell out, not kidding this really happened.

ive had my hair straighted...and it worked. my hair stayed straighted for a few months...but i did have to occassinally do touch ups w/ a regular straightener. it cost me about $150. my only complaint would be that my hair was completly fryed after.

I paid $400 for a Japanese perm that made my hair look fantastic for a year. It's already pretty straight, but this made it look as pin-straightr as a supermodel's. My hair stayed lovely for about twelve to fourteen months.

It won't make your hair completely straight. At first it will. After the first few washings, a slight wave will come back and you'll still need to flat-iron your hair, though. It'll grow back in just like the rest of your hair is naturally (wavy). You'll pay about $50 (starting/depending on type of straightener used/stylist experience) but some are upwards of $800 (if I'm not mistaken, CHI makes a straightener like this that DOES work until it grows out). All it really is, is perm solution applied and combed thru then neutralized to set your hair "straight."

i was very satisfeyd with my results.. i payed about 300 bucks to have it done. umm about the growing out part, it was actually a pain. i hade to straiten the roots whenever i took a shower. but, it didn't take as long to straiten it as it did when i have wavy hair.

Yes, and I do my own hair. I relax it and I pay $11.00 for the kit. Always satisfied with the results. My hair is in excellent shape.

yes i do my own and it comes out so straight.........remember do not scratch for at least 48 hours before applying it and remember to condition it really good and keep it moisturized.
