After chemically straightening your hair, can you get it wet?

I want to go swimming soon so please help

After chemically straightening your hair, can you get it wet?

If you mean straightening your hair by rebonding, the answer is NO. Not until about 4 days after. If you went through the regular straightening, a day or two would be just fine. One more thing, since your hair was exposed to chemicals already, you have to have a hot oil treatment or hair spa to avoid hair from getting brittle and dry.

you have to wait between 24-36-48 hours, depends on the chemicals you used in your hair.

Yes, the chemical bond in your hair will hold until the hair grows out or is cut to the point of growth. I'd be very careful about getting it in the chlorine while your hair's still so damaged. Make sure that you've conditioned your hair really well for the next couple of weeks, hot oil and hair masks are awesome!!

You can wet it with regular water to lessen the damage the cholorine damage, but a conditioner will help that as well.
