You need to get a professional (salon quality) protein conditioner. The protein strengthens the hair shaft. Any shampoo and conditioner that says "fortifying" is good. Nexxus makes a great product called Emergercee. Keep hot styling tool to a minimum, i.e. blow drying, flat irons. If you use a flat iron, spray on a heat-protecting styler. Also, if your hair is breaking off close to the scalp, it means your stylist is applying the chemical over hair that has already been treated, which is a big no, no. I am a cosmetologist, so email me if you have any other questions.

I would suggest you use a really good shampoo and conditioner to start, when you are in the shower put the water on as hot as you can stand and massage your scalp for about 5-10 minutes, this creates circulation/stimulation of the scalp and roots therefore making your hair stronger and healthier...plus please please use a heat treatment each and every time before you straighten and blowdry your hair. I find TRESEMME has a really good one. Happy Hair!!!!

Use a good, salon quality, moisturizing shampoo. Also, you may have had an allergic reaction to the straightener. Take Alavert (claritin) for 7 days to clear up the reaction.
