I'm thinking of getting my hair straightened. It's naturally wavy with lots of frizz that I can't handle, no matter what products I use on my hair. I want to get rid of the frizz for longer than an hour, so I'm thinking of getting it straightened. How will my hair grow back in? Will I have no more body?
How does hair act when it's chemically straightened?
the result of chemically straightened hair is really case to case. depends a lot on how much damage, if any, your hair has. i had my hair chemically straightened a couple of years ago. i have lots of hair, its kind of wavy, really poofy. the result turned out great. it looked really natural. when it grew back in, i swaer it grew out straighter and more tame and i havent had to straighten it since. but i've seen girls where they had it done and it looked fried. and when theirs grew back in it was friz on the top and fried at the bottom.
so it really depends :\
good luck though!

I am 41 and after a lifetime of dealing with ringlets got my hair straightened 2 weeks ago. I LOVE it!!!!!!! I went from shoulder-length curly hair to shoulder blade length straight hair. I feel 10 years younger. (I got told today that the woman thought I was in my late 20s)
The other day it rained and I prepared for large frizzy hair and it went flat. That was a new problem :) I can now wear it stick straight or curl it and put hair spray on. Before I could straighten it and put serum on it but NO hairspray or other products. The water from the hairspray would make my hair frizz.
When the roots grow out I will have to go in for a touch up.
Good luck!

you wil probably have some body left but it all depends on the thickness of your hair. Having it straightened usually works but it doesn't last for long periods at a time. Also the chemicals are really bad and unhealthy for your hair. if anything you will either have to always keep doing it or your hair is just going to keep getting more damage and be frizzier that it started out.
