Ok, I have sharpie-sized curls. What would be the best way to straighten it (every day) without damaging it? I need something quick and easy, and a product that won't dry it out all the way.

unfortunately all you can do is use the cool setting on your blow dryer. use curlers and curl them in whichever direction they are NOT flipping out and take out the curlers. it should do alright but you may need a straightener to fix it up.
use a leave in conditioner and a straightening serum, as well as hydrating shampoo and conditioner (it will stop it from getting so damaged.)

I to have curly hair. I think the only way to get it straight all the time would be to go to a salon and have it done professionally. I would go to a salon and ask for a consultation (these are usually free) and ask them what the results and the ups and downs of getting that done would be.

Do rollers on your hair after washing it? Blow dry and then undo rollers when dry and put your hair in a dubee and see on it... you have nice straight hair and not overdrying from
always blow drying...That way the hair breaths some...

i understand you completley on this. use a thick rounded brush to roll it in 3 inch sections while drying, and then take a straightening iron over it....the more nicer the straightening iron you have, the less damage it will produce. i dont know much about products, i try to stay away from them as some of them leave my hair greasy...but overall if your planning on straightening everyday, theres no way to avoid eventual damage. i have a chi straight iron, it was almost 200 dollars, definatley worth the money because it straightens my hair amazingly, but doing it everyday drys out and damages my hair inevitably!

My hair is wavy and I use a straightening iron sometimes. Be sure to get one that is not metal, those are crappy.

well honestly, no matter what you do to your hair, you will damage it. unavoidable. i have the same problem, but what i do is put a styling gel in my hair when wet, and then flat iron it when it is dry.
it will stay straight, flat, and shiny until you wash it again.

There is a product out there called Control Freak Extra Extra Straight by TIGI. You apply a small amount to a small section of hair, and blow dry each section until you've done your whole head. It's supposed to make your hair pretty straight, and if you touch it up with a straightener, it gets even straighter. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking about getting it for when I go to Europe so that it takes less time to blow dry and straighten my hair.
You can buy it at CVS Pharmacy, and other beauty supply stores for about $15.

I have curly hair too. I have a Chi turbo, and the Chi 44 spray, and it does wonders. It will stay straight for 2 days afterwards. I agree with the others, the better the investment on a flat iron, the better results you will have. The Chi 44 spray will protect your hair from the heat and make it shiney.
