I use hair straightening creams from my local grocery store and none of them work. Yes my hair is straight but my hair looks so unhealthy, dry, and it stays puffy. I need something that will replenish my hair and keep it sleek, shiny, and straight all day. What products do you suggest?
I have very dry wavy hair so I straighten it 3x a week.?
First of all, you need to prevent it from getting puffy by moisturizing your hair. Get a good deep conditioner and use it every week (Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask is good) and use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on your hair always (Herbal Essences Hello Hydration is good).
When straightening your hair, make sure it is mostly dry, or else the iron will damage it more. Spray on a heat-protecting spray (Tresemme and V05 make terrific ones) and iron, and use a straigtening balm or styling gloss like Beyond the Zone's Straight Shot, found at Sally's.
Finally, use a good quality iron with ceramic plates and don't straighten as often. If you're taking a shower, you can pin your hair up and put it under a shower cap so it doesn't frizz out again.

You didn't mention what kind of straightening iron you use, but that is probably the most important tool. A good one can cost well over $100, but it is a great investment. I have a Chi that is over 2 years old and still works great. Also, try this. The night before you straighten your hair, wash it, and pull it into a tight bun low on your head. This will help naturally straighten some of your curls as you sleep. I don't really use any sleeking creams for mine, but my hair is fairly thin. good luck!!

Check out this site: http://www.naturallycurly.com - all of the information on how to take care of curly (wavy too) hair is there!
Even though you straighten your hair everyday, you shouldn't treat your hair as though it is straight. Curly hair is, by nature, much more porous and it requires more moisture than straight hair. Try using more conditioner, less harsh shampoos. And trust me, Pantene is your worst enemy. If you are going to stick to grocery store brands of shampoos, conditioners and products...look for the Herbal Essences products. They tend to be less harsh on your hair. Also, you may think this sounds crazy (I know I did at first), but try using products designed for fine, thin hair. I appear to have really thick hair (straight or curly), but in actuality I have a lot of fine strands of hair. Now, if you are willing to pay more money for shampoos and conditioners that are professional salon products, I recommend using the TIGI S Factor line...especially the Serious Conditioner for once a week moisture treatments for your hair. The products cost more but you can really tell a difference - it is so worth it. Redken Smooth Down product line is a little less expensive, more easily found (many grocery stores and Wal-Marts and Target are beginning to carry it) but it works just as well. AND as an added benefit it is designed to keep the frizz down.
Also, your flat iron may be contributing to your dryness...look for one with ceramic plates and ALWAYS use a heat protectant on your hair before you use the flat iron (silk serums, blow dry spray, flat iron protectant made by all kinds of manufacturers). Look around on http://www.folica.com - they have all sorts of flat irons and products and they offer free shipping on orders over $75.
Another idea when trying out new products is to find a store that has a generous return policy...many products appear to work great after one, two or even a few uses, but the real test is if you still like something after a few weeks.
I ALMOST FORGOT to mention...once you have styled your hair....resist the urge to touch it as much as possible...the disturbs the natural oils in your hair by adding the oils from your hands and anything you touch to your hair.
